Solo: A Star Wars Story The Black Series Action Figures

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 14, 2018

3476 The subtext of Solo: A Star Wars Story seems to be that this is clearly Childish Gambino's year.  I don't care what the movie title is, this is the Lando movie and the very first official Donald Glover Lando Calrissian reveal is in the 6-inch action figure line.  It's awesome.   (Are you watching Atlanta?  You should watch that.)  But I digress - the figures will follow the same pattern as usual.  Will new figures slip out early thanks to the same assortment running since 2015?  It's possible!  But here's what Hasbro has to say:

Solo: A Star Wars Story Force Link 2.0 Starter Set

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 14, 2018

3475 One of the more fascinating ideas (with a closed execution) is back with the Force Link 2.0 Starter Set.  (Completists have 3 of version 1.0 by now.)   The new hotness includes younger Han Solo, a blaster, and.. well, you read it.  It is  backward compatible (I asked) and there may be other surprises baked in - but we'll have to wait and see what the final toy can do.  Check out the Millennium Falcon-inspried detailing.

Solo: A Star Wars Story 3 3/4-Inch Action FIgure Tease

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 14, 2018

3470 Solo: A Star Wars Story wouldn't be a toy line without 3 3/4-inch action figures.   From the photos, these may be Hasbro's finest sculpts and decorations yet - get a gander at the human likenesses.  Ths is a preview of them - more are coming, so there will still be things to reveal between now and... well, I can't divulge that just yet.  At least two figures may be just different enough to make you mad.   Hasbro says:

3471 STAR WARS 3.75-INCH FIGURE Assortment
(Ages 4 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $7.99/Available: Spring 2018)
Enter the world of STAR WARS and launch into action and adventure! Each 3.75-inch figure features five points of articulation and comes with unique battle accessories. Characters include classic heroes and villains, as well as favorite characters from SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY such as CHEWBACCA, LUKE SKYWALKER, QI’RA, K-2SO, MAZ KANATA, and more.

Solo: A Star Wars Millennium Falcon Refit

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 14, 2018

3468 I should be packing, but Hasbro sent along a shot of the most excellent flagship... ship.   Let's let them talk about it while I upload photos and listen to The Ramones albums.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY 3.75-INCH KESSEL RUN MILLENNIUM FALCON VEHICLE

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 14, 2018

It's the fuzz!  The Canto Bight Police figure comes with a vehicle that's.... well, it's kind of spare.  The figure looks like something out of 1980, and is generally pretty neat for a generic trooper pilot.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,452: First Order Stormtrooper Executioner (The Black Series 3 3/4-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, February 5, 2018

If you're looking to build an army, the First Order Stormtrooper Executioner (The Black Series 3 3/4-Inch) is pretty good.  Walmart has a super-articulated version of the figure, and Toys R Us has one with a Force Link pack at a higher price.  If you can find this one, get it.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,451: Rey (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Newish! The Rey (The Last Jedi Line Look) comes with a poncho, lightsaber, and blaster - but under it all, she's a lot like the Resistance Rey from 2016, albeit with a new sculpt and fancy sound chip.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,450: Elite Praetorian Guard (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 29, 2018

Today we look at the Elite Praetorian Guard (The Black Series 6-Inch)!  In the movie they were awesome - but the figures are a little tough to pose, even with elbow joints.  Should you build an army?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,447: Admiral Ackbar (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 17, 2018

If you haven't yet got him, the Admiral Ackbar (The Black Series 6-Inch)  is probably at a Toys R Us near you right now.  He has a cool blaster, an opening mouth, and one of the better alien paint jobs I've seen in a while - I like it.  Read on!
