It's that time again - and it's been a while! We haven't got a non-holiday droid pack in a while, so theme parks and ShopDisney now have a $49.99 Star Wars: Ahsoka Droid Action Figure Set with Huyang (a different version from Hasbro is also in The Vintage Collection), Chopper (ditto), C4-R4C, and RD-3. Sadly, the little Kenner-domed guy isn't in this one - hopefully he's coming down the road. You can go to the park, or you can click here to get the set for $12.50/per before taxes and shipping.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R4-X2. You might not remember this one - it's from a Disney parks The Last Jedi two-pack and it's pretty awesome in person. It looks like it would fit in nicely with R2-X2, if you have the later green flavor of that one. Also it's long since sold out. Read on!
Ad: Get new Hasbro Star Wars Pre-Orders at Entertainment Earth! Tons of new items have been added for pre-order from The Black Series and The Vintage Collection.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Boba Fett (Dune Sea, The Retro Collection). Some online shops (like Entertainment Earth) are shipping out this wave but I haven't seen any in stores yet. If you do see them, you should get them - Boba has a good head sculpt, excellent Jawa-esque robes, and two really nice accessories to boot. I went and got my The Vintage Collection Boba Fett's Spaceship (or whatever it's called this week) when I cracked him open and had myself a pretty good time in the cargo hold, but he's too big to fit in the pilot seat. The live stream is over, finished! Pre-orders begin for these items - or at least most of these items - tomorrow.
The big news and the biggest surprise to me was the Pipeline Reveal of The Retro Collection 6-pack of Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones figures for Shop Disney and Hasbro Pulse. It's at 40:19. Highlights include Padme (AOTC), Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker (ROTS), General Grievous, and Jango Fett. Also an Episode III Clone Trooper in plain white. Hopefully this means regular drops of 6-packs are in the cards for other movies.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Pre Vizsla (The Vintage Collection). He is available as a 6-inch figure as well, and for all I know you may find either at a store near you - they're both good, but this one takes up . Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Marrok (The Black Series). He's a knight, sort of, and he's rusty, kind of. But it's a nice looking toy figure. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: C1 Droid (Advent Calendar 2022). It's another droid, with bright colors, that's Christmas related, but I don't get the gag - but little brown shoes, sure. Green pants, OK. Yellow suspenders, I can't complain. If you like robot toys, it's an interesting one with a fold-out arm in his chest and two more on the head. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Wicket W. Warrick (The Retro Collection). The nose paint is a little off, and the hood feels very different from the rubbery 1984 original - but it's still cute, small, and last I checked, sold out. Get this set if you can find it at retail price. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: General Hera Syndulla (The Vintage Collection). It's important to release a character in triplicate, and all three flavors came out last fall. This one is 3 3/4-inches tall and has all the articulation, making it the one you'll probably want to have handy when The Ghost shows up from HasLab later this year. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Professor Huyang (The Black Series). You might actually find him in stores now. The sculpting is great, the paint is good, but the plastic reads more as "plastic" than "metal robot." But it's good - the articulation is top-notch and the design made the jump to a 6-inch figure pretty nicely. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Power Droid (Advent Calendar 2022). It's a present - and it looks pretty good, too. Dare you unwrap this Sandcrawler box of robots and find a green robot inside with a ribbon? Probably, it's been on sale lately. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: General Hera Syndulla (The Retro Collection). If you can find one, it's a fun figure. This is a new mold that aims to make a figure close to something like they sold in the 1980s, but it has details like a little lip paint and patches on the jacket that we'd never have seen back then. It's not exactly like an old Kenner figure, but it comes close with the 5 joints, and the blaster loop holster, and the fact she can actually fit in your old vehicles. (And hopefully, the new one coming in the fall from HasLab.) Read on!
Because I was lazy and didn't check the search box while writing my last figure review, Reader Todd wrote in to say: "I've had a custom retro life day chewie for quite awhile now! Check out the cape master: https://thecapemaster.com/collections/star-wars/products/6
I was lamenting that there should have been a Kenner-style figure, given the Holiday Special's unique vintage, and fans have once again done what the Lucas/Disney Industrial Complex have not. The robe (no figure) is $10, and they also have some distinctive upgrades for the Tusken Raider robes and other replacement Star Wars capes.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R5 Droid (Advent Calendar 2022). It's a nutcracker, I think! You can see the eyes in the neck, and the dome is a hat, and the beard is on the top of the body. I think. Maybe it's just a test of your human imagination to see patterns where only chaos exists... but I like to think the red, black, gold, and white droid is here to open snacks. Read on!
