Target Cancels Pre-Orders for The Retro Collection Set

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, May 9, 2025

After missing the April 27 date, the May 4 date, and then just asking for fans to approve a delay this week, Target decided just to cancel all pre-orders for the Star Wars Retro Collection Star Wars: A New Hope Figure Multipack.

Presumably the item will still come out at some point, but apparently  you're going to have to hunt it now.  Target stores put out shelf tags for it last week, so it's presently unknown what caused all pre-orders to be canceled.  The original date for the item was April 27, then May 4, and just this week fans were asked to approve an order delay until May 20.  I suppose that means May 20 was not the real date.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,239: Grand Admiral Thrawn (Live-Action, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 8, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Grand Admiral Thrawn (Live-Action, The Vintage Collection). This is the previous Rebels Thrawn with a new blaster, new head, and new shades of blue. It shares parts with Motti, Piett, and other Imperial officer figures from the last few years. If you're not Thrawn-ed out, this is a figure you can pick up that could well be Ship Of Theseused into a new version when season 2 of Ahsoka comes out - but it's the best one right now. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,238: The Mandalorian (Epic World of Action)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 6, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: The Mandalorian (Epic World of Action). It looks a lot like last year's figure, but adds tons of articulation and an energy-crackling Darksaber. Elbows and knees are here, and while it doesn't have quite the articulation from The Vintage Collection, it's under half the price and is pretty close. I'd like to see more figures like this. Target's Star Wars: The Retro Collection Set Delayed Until (At Least) May 20

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 6, 2025

If you ordered the Star Wars Retro Collection Star Wars: A New Hope Figure Multipack from Target - with Dr. Evazan, Walrus Man, Stormtrooper Han Solo, and the rest - you need to check your order and approve a delay. The item was due April 27, but now has an ETA of May 20. If you do not approve the delay, there's a chance your pre-order will be canceled.

May the 4th May 2nd Hasbro Star Wars Fanstream

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, May 2, 2025

So, what's new this time? Some pretty good stuff from The Vintage Collection and The Black Series.   If you love the 1977 movie, you will want to see this one.   If you are fans of the 1979 toy line, and I know that you are, you're going to want to keep reading or watch the video.

Newly revealed items are listed below if you don't actually have the time for a video right now.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,237: Jedi Master Indara (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 1, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Jedi Master Indara (The Vintage Collection). She is amazing! But is she what you want? That's the weird question - if you were around today's date in 1999, the idea of getting Trinity from The Matrix in a costume that belongs in the then-upcoming Star Wars prequel would have made your head explode. It would have been the coolest thing ever.

The face looks amazing, with a great separately-molded wig. She has a tiny commlink, a lightsaber, and a hilt. The costume looks great - it's another example of Hasbro doing what they do well. But it's from The Acolyte, and it came just a hair late so fans don't particularly want it right now despite this being an excellent action figure. I'd recommend it - if it's the thing you want. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,236: SM-33 (Epic World of Action)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 29, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: SM-33 (Epic World of Action). The only figure of this character so far, it's in the kid line and has telescoping forearms. That's a new featre! A droids go it's distinctive, very large, and hopefully something you'll find in a store near you at some point. Read on!

Target: New Star Wars Hasbro Exclusives Showing Up, but Retro A-No-No

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, April 27, 2025

From the look of reports, online inventory, and lack of order processing, Target's exclusive Star Wars Retro Collection Star Wars: A New Hope Figure Multipack with the Sandtrooper and Dr. Evazan did not make it out on the release date today. Other Hasbro The Black Series exclusives like the Andor Range Trooper and the reissue Rogue One Jedha Stormtrooper are reportedly in stock around the country, so happy hunting on those two today.

Where does that leave the retro set?  Updated 4/28.

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 24, 2025

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,234: Jawa (Mos Eisley, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 24, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Jawa (Mos Eisley, The Vintage Collection). It's a nice Jawa, but it's made from parts dating back up to 10 years. Some parts come from a 3 3/4-inch 2-pack of Jawas from The Black Series, but mostly he shares elements with the Offworld Jawa and Teeka. This new one comes with a playset! It's still a nice Jawa, but you might have a very similar figure or three in your clan already. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,234: Dark Trooper (Epic World of Action)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 22, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Dark Trooper (Epic World of Action). I haven't seen it in a store myself yet, but if you do? You should get one. It's big, it's sturdy, it's cheap, and the paint on the figure is very good. I am not crazy about both the blaster and blast effect being clear red, but it's still pretty excellent. Read on!

New The Vintage Collection Bantha Today (and The Black Series Stuff Too)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 17, 2025

Hasbro is dripping out a lot of reveals with Celebration Japan!  At a panel, they revealed The Vintage Collection Crosshair as well as a smattering of characters from The Black Series.   Dash Rendar, Nightsister Merrin, a Cal Kestis/Turgle/Skoova Stev set, and others should be up for pre-order in just a few hours.

Also exciting is a Gizmodo piece with 3 new reveals.  A new Bantha for The Vintage Collection will be going to Pulse/Disney, and it has a mouth that opens with visible teeth!  That's new!

A de-armored Cobb Vanth for The Vintage Collection image is also making the rounds, as well as a Rocket Trooper - another Stormtrooper variant from Jedi Survivor.   You'll also see Moff Gideon (Dark Trooper Armor).

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,233: Grogu (The Book of Boba Fett, The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 17, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Hasbro do that Grogu (The Book of Boba Fett, The Retro Collection) that they do so well!

This is a pretty clever idea for a product. It's a reissue of the obscure Kenner Dagoah training backpack, with a reissue of "The Child" and a frog from 2021. Since the wave never hit mass market retailers it can be tough to say if it sold well or not, but I rarely saw them on closeout shelves and odds are a lot of fans might want it just for the backpack. I think it's worth getting, but I generally like all of these a fair amount. Also I believe this is my last unreviewed Retro figure until the red dot ships their exclusive set around the end of the month. Read on!
