Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,181: Osha Aniseya (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 17, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Osha Aniseya (The Vintage Collection). She is showing up at Walmarts and online stores right now, so the good news is you can find her. The better news is that she's excellent - the face is good, the wig looks decent (better in person), her accessories are exactly what I want, the vest fits well, and the articulation is good. This is a shining example of Hasbro doing everything right for a new streaming series show, because it came out within two months of the series concluding - which is also pretty good for the modern era, but not good enough when fans do so much of their buying before the movies would hit theaters. If you skipped the show (and it looks like that is most of you), this is still a good figure. If you hated The Acolyte, it remains a very good figure. Read on!

Star Wars Review: X-Wing Pilot (Miralan, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 15, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: X-Wing Pilot (Miralan, The Vintage Collection). It's Luke with a new head, but the new head has a great separately molded wig piece and great face paint. If she's from a specific moment in the series, I haven't been able to pinpoint her, but she looks perfectly nice as another action figure that, technically, fits in with your old trilogy stuff. By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, October 13, 2024

This week in Star Wars Q&A - What would make things interesting? Things I can't have, of course! And Who owns the original look of Kenner's action figure packaging? Not Hasbro!

Also, we're out of questions for next week.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,179: Bo-Katan Kryze (Walmart Exclusive 2-Pack, Epic Hero Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 10, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Bo-Katan Kryze (Walmart Exclusive 2-Pack, Epic Hero Series). This Walmart 2-pack is likely in stores now, and is different than the single figure - the 2-pack has a jet pack, the single has a blaster. It's a pretty nice figure, too, with a Beskar pauldron. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,178: C4-R4C (Droid Factory)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 8, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: C4-R4C (Droid Factory). As the only 3 3/4-inch figure of this droid, it's the best - and it's pretty good too. There are a lot of grimy paint apps over a freh figure, so if you squint and get in close it's quite impressive. Read on!

Q&A: Locked-Up Toys, Star Wars Playset Size Expectations Revisited, and Future Prospects

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, October 6, 2024

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Playsets! Let's set some expectations! Odds are a complete small moon isn't possible on a collectible budget. What does the future hold for us? I'm still looking, but it looks like locking up toys is all the rage this October.

Also, we're out of questions for next week. What's on your mind?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,177: Emperor's Royal Guard (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 3, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Emperor's Royal Guard (The Retro Collection) . This sold-out exclusive looks pretty spectacular, with detail surprisingly close to the original from 1983. You've probably got one by now, but if not, this was a good figure to have. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,176: Professor Huyang (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 1, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Professor Huyang (The Vintage Collection). This is the Hasbro model - it's taller than the Disney Droid Factory one and has more accessories, so you'll probably want this one. Neither has the edge in paint, so if you care about height? Get this one. Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars at Hasbro's End is (Probably Not) Nigh and Strictly Personal Nonsense

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, September 29, 2024

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Is there an end?  Not that I know of.  Also let's go on a tangent because we've got space.

Also, we're out of questions for two weeks from now.  Send some in, they're welcome!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,175: Moff Gideon (Walmart Exclusive 2-Pack, Epic Hero Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 26, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Moff Gideon (Walmart Exclusive 2-Pack, Epic Hero Series). This Walmart exclusive is about $20, and that isn't too bad. He has different accessories than the single-carded release, including a jet pack which is unique. I like this one. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,174: Professor Huyang (Droid Factory)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 24, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Professor Huyang (Droid Factory). Hasbro made one too - Hasbro's is taller and has more accessories. Disney's has different paint applications - so neither is the superior figure, at least, on the surface. Since this one is in a gift set with more droids, should you pick it up? Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars Playsets and Production Sizes

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, September 22, 2024

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Playsets! Do we need them all?  Also overproduction - it's hard to measure, but solid figure cases sometimes will prove that it is not in a manufacturer's best interest to make sure you get the figure that you want.

Also, we're out of questions for next week.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,173: Admiral Ackbar (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 19, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Admiral Ackbar (The Retro Collection). This is the reissue from last year, but you may have had the original for over 40 years - it's a neat one. The eyes on mine are a little off, but otherwise it looks fairly close to the original. It's not exact, but they never are. At least it's an awesome design, and the kind of thing you can't actually find on the pegs anymore as the line seems increasingly even more focused on human-faced aliens and conventional human body silhouettes. So get an Ackbar. Read on!
