Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,260: Rebel Fleet Trooper (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 22, 2025

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Rebel Fleet Trooper (The Retro Collection). It's probably not in a store near you, and last I checked you couldn't order it for delivery anymore. The set is nice, but this is probably the weirdest figure. The colors and face are perfect, the pose is a little off, the vest doesn't seem quite right. But if you plop it in an old vehicle, he seems right at home. The pants are a little weird. The hips aren't quite right. But, it's one of six figures this year and it's about $10 worth of a $60 boxed set that is otherwise pretty great. It is what it is, and if you plop it in a decent small vehicle you might go "OK, yeah, this is better than I thought."  Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars Retro Endgames and Hopes and Dreams

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, July 20, 2025

This week in Star Wars Q&A - What's next for Retro? Well, we don't know, but you want some suggestions.

We also just got a big surge of new Vintage figures, so it's hunting (or ordering) season. I just popped open a very good Carson Teva and I'm going to check out Asajj Ventress next.

Also, we're out of questions for a few weeks' out. Send in new questions.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,259: Grand Admiral Thrawn (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, July 17, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Grand Admiral Thrawn (The Vintage Collection). It's a version designed to match Heir to the Empire - note the shoulder ornamentation and ysalamir - but it retained the unique collar ornamentation from Rebels and Ahsoka. In short, this is probably the Thrawn you were waiting for, unless you're waiting for a retro Kenner-style figure, in which case we're all still waiting. This Thrawn sold out quickly, and is part of a decent set of figures. If you can snag it, you probably should do so. Read on!

Star Wars Video Review (Not By Me) of Custom Space Bar

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, July 16, 2025

My pal over at Orbitdyne on Etsy makes an incredible Deluxe Space Bar - Custom 3 3/4" Action Figure Playset. I have an earlier version and love it. Seth still makes them, but over on YouTube The Kenner Collector made a review of it, and you might want to see it. So here it is!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,258: R0-1N6 (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 15, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R0-1N6 (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory). It loks a lot like a figure from a few years ago - but the drums are new. They're not an exact match for The Book of Boba Fett but given it's been about four years, odds are we'll not be getting a remake of this guy or many other character from the show. It's good enough for now, and pretty impressive what with its tiny arms and drumsticks. Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars Rarities Returning Regularly and/or Books

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, July 13, 2025

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Remaking rarities! Sometimes I'm for it, sometimes I'm not. Also Andor books!  Is print dead?

Also, we're back to the old site template, which is handy, and shows technology that you don't control is hard to fix.

Classic: A 2014 Video of Star Wars Rebels The Phantom

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, July 11, 2025

While once $20, the Star Wars Rebels The Phantom shuttle is now out of production. Fans take Hasbro vehicle engineering for granted, because even the kid stuff was pretty spectacular. This one had three slide-out cannons, fold-out wings, an articulated rocket launcher, plus an opening cockpit and an opening rear. There was some room for accessory storage, plus a back seat for another figure.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,257: Sandtrooper (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, July 10, 2025

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Sandtrooper (The Retro Collection). This is a good one, with two gripping hands and a sculpt that looks like it would belong in the 1970s. He has that diamond knee design you'd expect, the shoulder pad is split to allow for movement, and it has a unique blaster. It's kind of a shame you can't buy these individually, I'd have picked up a few more. He's currently in a 6-pack at Target stores. Read on!

Repost 7/7/2025: Amazon Ad Thing: New IG-11 Speeder Bike for Epic World of Action

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Star WarsVia Amazon (yes this is a sponsored link): STAR WARS SW 4INCH Figure Vehicle Pack . It's actually an Epic World of Action IG-11, Grogu, and Speeder Bike set - and I believe it's an exclusive. The product listing doesn't have a name and it's not labeled as an exclusive, but I haven't seen it elsewhere so who knows what might happen in other stores in a few days. It's not bad for the asking price - pretty much the same as a regular retail Speeder Bike, with more stuff in the box.

Give it a look.

Repost 7/7/2025: Q&A: Star Wars Rarities You Don't Want and Droidless Kid Stuff

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 8, 2025

This week in Star Wars Q&A - Overseas rarities! Think you own - let alone know - every figure? Probably not, Europe got some oddballs that don't get a lot of attention. And droids. Is every scale going to get the big two? Probably not.

Repost 7/3/2025: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,255: Joruus C'baoth (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Joruus C'baoth (The Vintage Collection). It's not Alan Moore, but it could be. It's a mad Jedi clone from a 1991 book, finally arriving to fulfill a name that's been on a lot of wish lists since the original Bush administration. Sadly, the set quickly sold out, but hopefully there will be demand for him to come back. Read on!

Repost 7/1/2025: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,254: GS-C1B (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: GS-C1B (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory). The colors are good, the restraining bolt is missing, and it's mostly pretty excellent. And it sold out online, so if you can get one you should. Read on!

Repost 6/26/2025: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,253: Walrus Man (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 8, 2025

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Walrus Man (The Retro Collection). It's the only remake of the only wave (that I know of) for the year, taking the 1979 figure and sanding down the edges. The whiskers seem to have been reduced in resolution and blurred out, and the various wrinkles are softer than the real deal - but the colors and paint are perfect. The joints move nicely and the plastic feels great. Hopefully they can sharpen up the next round of reissues, but after seven years of figures I would not hold my breath. His hand can hold his (or one of Evazan's) blasters, but it's a little looser than the 1979 hand. Still, it's nice, and I like the improved eye paint a lot. It's charming, and you should be buying this set anyway. Read on!
