Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,034: Mon Mothma (Senator, The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, June 1, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Mon Mothma (Senator, The Black Series). She has no accessories, but is a pretty decent looking figure who, in my findings, didn't stand so good. But she's the secret star of Andor, so you might want to grab one. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,033: Kithaba (2023 Reissue, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 30, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Kithaba (2023 Reissue, The Vintage Collection). Take three! The first one had a brown bandanna, then there was a red variation. This one from last month has some of that fancy tiny dot printing, giving it a slightly different look - especially if you squint and have a microscope. But you don't, so it's just a good new edition of an alien figure that you probably very much want. Read on!

Q&A: Star Wars Scale and Twists, Turns

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, May 28, 2023

This week in Q&A - Why did Mando not twist or shout with season 3? Also scale - big, small, we're in a weird world after 40 years.

Be sure you send in your questions. I'm one question short for next week, so it's a good time to share what's on your mind. Read on!

Healey Made Shadow Raider v. 2 Available Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, May 27, 2023

RaiderVia the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Menu: May 27, 2023. Several years ago, the first painted Healey Made Glyos figure was the Raider (Shadow) - this new one changes up a few paint hits, and adds a cloth cape to the mix. It's basically just different enough to make you mad, but I bought one anyway. Click here to see if it's still able to be ordered. At press time it's still available for $25 and is a nice fit with your original Kenner figures, even if it's not really a Star Wars guy.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,032: Han Solo (Endor, The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 25, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Han Solo (Endor, The Retro Collection). The skin color of modern retro guys aren't as good as the originals, but the sculpt is excellent and so is the coat. Given the coat covers most of this somewhat hard-to-find 1984 figure, I'd say it's worth getting aboard the "good enough" train. Toot toot.

Also happy 40th birthday to Return of the Jedi, the milestone that reminds the VHS generation of fans that they are now old.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,031: HK-87 (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 23, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,031: HK-87 (The Black Series). It's based on some old McQuarrie concept sketches for bounty hunters, which means I like it a lot. There's a good reason it looks like classic Star Wars, and I dig the mismatched colors and nifty blaster. Read on!

Q&A: Retro Indiana Jones and Star Wars Little Green Friends

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, May 21, 2023

This week in Q&A - Grogu Madness! Will the fever break? (Has it?) And Retro Figures... we've always got something that isn't quite right. And now it's Indiana Jones!

Also Mark Boudreaux has died.  If you don't recognize the name, you know his work - he engineered most of the greatest toy vehicles from Kenner and Hasbro.

Be sure you send in your questions. The mailbag is out of questions, so if you got some, send some in. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,030: Hunter (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 18, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Hunter (The Vintage Collection). It's the only actual member of The Bad Batch in The Vintage Collection so far, and he's a good one - lots of small painted details may be enjoyed, and he has a lot of accessories. It's worth getting. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,029: 4-LOM (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: 4-LOM (The Retro Collection). The original isn't too expensive, and it isn't changed too much either. But if you don't have the original, this is a pretty good substitute with the requisite slightly washed-out sculpted detail. But hey, what matters is the robes cover most of it and they did a good job replicating the old fabric, so you'll probably love it. Read on!

Q&A: Epic Star Wars Figures, Pricing Woes, The Usual

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, May 14, 2023

This week in Q&A - Guardians of the Galaxy have 4-inch figures for kids, so why not Star Wars?  The Marvel guys aren't bad.  Also Why are some of those Vintage guys so expensive?

Kenner Designer Mark Boudreaux Reported Dead

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, May 14, 2023

Numerous reports from around social media state that former Kenner and Hasbro designer Mark Boudreaux, known for engineering so many vehicles, Titanium Series Transformers, the vehicles and playsets in Care Bears, and even a lot of work on the HasLab Sail Barge, has died. I have not found a primary source or mainstream news outlet to report this at this time, but he has been reported hospitalized for quite some time and has been suffering lung damage from COVID-19 and a ventilator.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,028: Reva (Third Sister, The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 11, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Reva (Third Sister, The Black Series). They did a pretty great job with this one, featuring one of the better heads and faces with tip-top armor and extra lightsaber accessories. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,027: Cassian Andor (Aldahani Mission, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Cassian Andor (Aldahani Mission, The Vintage Collection). He's starting to pop up in stores (and online), but he's also mostly older figure parts and as such, is missing the blaster he made a fuss about holding on Andor. As a last-minute, rush job of a figure it's not bad - but since we got fully-sculpted figures from the show already it just reminds me that we could have had something a little bit better. Read on!

16bit.com Review: Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, May 6, 2023

Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action FigureIt sold out, but I still reviewed it at 16bit.com Figure of the Day. It's a 3 3/4-inch sci-fi figure in the style of classic Kenner figures.

It blue! The Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action Figure is unsurprisingly, a lot of fun to play with and seems like it would have been something Kenner made after it ran out of Ewoks and Droids. Because it's Glyos, you can mix and match with the other Healey figures - and he's a good match with the Raider or other Trooper. He sold out, but if you have the chance to buy one in this or another color you should.
