Looking to kill some time? NextMovie.com posted a video splicing together all (or at least most) of 30 Rock's Star Wars references. The whole thing has a whole lot of Tina Fey and runs 2:41, so I'd say you've got plenty of time to check this one out. We embedded the video after the jump.
Yakface.com reports that Hasbro has assigned a date of June 1st for the release of the ToysRUs exclusive Vintage Collection Endor AT-AT. Of course, given Hasbro's recent history with dates and releases, a caveat emptor applies.
Here are the latest pre-orders and new arrivals from our sponsors at BigBadToyStore.com. Star Wars items include the new Scout Trooper Ewok Attack Maquette from Gentle Giant. Check out the full listing after the jump!
With all sorts of goodies leaking out lately, Kotaku posted a big article on the final months of LucasArts which, in and of itself, would be a good read. The icing on the cake is Battlefront III video footage, showing off some of the vehicles and weapons which may have been in the final, now-not-coming build.
A few years ago, a bunch of steampunk-influenced Star Wars action figures made the rounds online from Sillof's Workshop before you started to see gears, brass, monocles, and buckles on everything. His latest creation was commissioned by the great Patton Oswalt (whose extended double album 222 and EP The Pennsylvania Macaroni Company may be two of comedy's finest achievements). What is it? Russ Meyer. As in Faster, Empire! Strike! Strike! Action Figures. Maybe you've seen Darla Vade and Stormy Go Go. Want to see Lando, as a woman, with an afro? Of course you do. See her after the jump.
Perhaps better known to fans as "Star Wars Disco," the schlocky Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk by Meco was actually part of a fairly popular and wildly popular mash-ups in the 1970s. The AV Club has an article called Star Wars goes disco and other crassly commercial hits of the "Medley Age" which is a fascinating read to anyone who loved through the Meco or Stars On 45 the first time around, or heard them referenced on "Weird Al" Yankovic albums or other Dr. Demento songs much later.
I'm still here! Q&A is back with your questions, and apparently you really want to talk about Vintage and 2013 and the lack of new stuff on the shelves. You also want to talk about real vintage figures, and of course which 2013 new figures are different enough to make you mad because you have excellent taste. All this and crazy ramblings from me, after the jump. If you have questions for next week (that aren't about the 2013 line) please be sure to send 'em in!
A collection of Vintage 12-back AFA graded figures is available over at Brian's Toys. This collection includes 12 Back-A's of Leia, small head Han Solo, and Luke! Other 12-backs include Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Ben Kenobi.
In a frustrating "now you tell me!" kind of a way, Slashfilm has information indicating that the most-likely-canned game Star Wars 1313 was recently retooled by order for George Lucas himself to have Boba Fett as the lead character.
Thanks to a tip from our pal and friend to all collectors Chuck, we now know that Downtown Disney's Once Upon a Toy Hasbro store now has the Droid Factory set up. This means you don't have to pay to get into Disney Hollywood Studios, as Once Upon a Toy has no admission fee. From the pictures it looks like it's a much better set-up filled with bins on four sides (rather than just one) and best of all, you won't have to shell out $100 to get into the theme park to waste 2 hours of high-quality ride time to attempt to collect them all.
If you're looking to muck around with the guts of a PC classic game this weekend, you're in luck! Activision and Raven released the source code for Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II this week. And you know what that means! (And if you don't, that's OK, you probably won't want to read the rest of the story.)
Pre-orders are now being taken for the Sixth Scale Commander Wolffe figure. The Sideshow exclusive edition features a unique Wolf Pack display base. Wolffe is scheduled for release this October and retails for $159.99.
Here's the latest announcement from our sponsors at BigBadToyStore.com. Check out all the new pre-orders and IN STOCK items after the jump!
LucasArts was best known to fans as what confused people thought was the true name of the company Lucasfilm, but in reality it was the entertainment software branch of George Lucas' media empire. For much of its early life it was known as Lucasfilm Games, which spawned numerous memorable computer games like The Curse of Monkey Island, TIE Fighter, Maniac Mansion, and more recently Grim Fandango. Today, we learned that Disney will be shuttering the developer, instead licensing out its characters to other developers. The fate for Star Wars 1313 is not completely known although some reports have indicated it was far enough along to finish while others say it will be axed.
