Q&A: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Toys on Demand, and Black Robots

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, January 22, 2017

This week in Q&A - 3-D Printing, official-style is here via Disney. Is it good, bad, or worth ignoring? The Clone Wars - ended, have they? And C2-B5 - why? WHYYYYYYYYY? Why not?

Also, please remember that if you have a dollar, instead of throwing it in the street you can donate to our Patreon. It's like a PBS pledge drive, only there are no tote bags and no operas. Keep the server lights on, and get Q&A a week early (as available)!

And send in your questions for next week. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,336: C-3PO (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Hey, it's C-3PO!  This is the Walgreens one and it's fantastic.  I hope you got one to go with the R2-D2 I also hope you got.   You can probably find one in a local store if you hit a few stores in your locale, but for now just enjoy this review.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,335: 212th Attack Battalion Utapau Trooper (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 17, 2017

This 212th Attack Battalion Utapau Trooper is one of four figures in the Entertainment Earth exclusive 4-pack available now.  It sports some of the best battle-damage I've ever seen on a Hasbro action figure, plus it's exactly as articulated as previous Clone Trooper action figures.  I love the little chips and dings in the orange areas, plus the dirt and scrapes are no slouch.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,334: Finn (Jakku, Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 16, 2017

Today we look at Finn!  But he's different - this is the one from the 2-pack with Phasma that just came out and you didn't get yet.  His jacket is a different color and some details are just a tiny bit different.  You know what that means - it's different enough to make you mad.  Check it out, and read on!

Q&A: More Star Wars Vehicles, X-Wing Redux, and Timing

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, January 15, 2017

This week in Q&A - We're going to talk about vehicles. What is a disappointment? It depends on who you ask. And New X-Wings? Well, I'm not optimistic. Timing is important. Especially in Star Wars.

And send in your questions for next week. Read on!

Revealed: Rogue One Galen Erso from Hasbro

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 12, 2017

Special thanks to Hasbro and their PR team for sending us this first look at Galen Erso, a character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  (If you haven't seen it yet and consider this a spoiler, a month out, that's on you.)  He includes a blaster and a Mouse Droid, which is a pretty nifty extra for those of us looking to populate that Death Star playset.  The one we hope to get some day.  Hopefully.  Well, take a look - we've got a packaged shot and an unpackaged shot after the break.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,333: Captain Phasma (Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 12, 2017

You might not want another Captain Phasma, but this 3 3/4-inch one is interesting - it comes from Vietnam and not China, meaning we're talking new molds here.  The deco is different, the height has changed, and some of the sculpted details were tweaked - but she has basically the same pose and design.  Finn's even more interesting, but he's on tap for next week.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,332: Princess Leia Organa (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 11, 2017

The hard-to-find Princess Leia Organa from the 6-inch line is pretty good.  With any luck she'll get a little more distribution later in the year, but for now she's available in an assortment with 5 other new figures that is a little tough to come by.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,331: C2-B5 (Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 10, 2017

What's this?  Another C2-B5?  Yup!  One was from Disney, this one is from Hasbro. Their colors are just different enough so that they look like different droids, so I'd say you'd want to get both.  Or you would, if it didn't require the purchase of the AT-ACT.  (It's expensive.)  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,330: Imperial AT-ACT Driver (Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 9, 2017

Much has been said about his vehicle, but not much of the Imperial AT-ACT Driver himself.  My sample can't actually sit in the vehicle - so I'm not crazy about it.  It's a decent looking figure with swell paint and a great design, but it's never a good sign when a vehicle's pilot can't pilot the vehicle.  Want to see more? Q&A: Rogue Vehicles, Star Wars Specials, and Star Wars Variations

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, January 8, 2017

This week in Q&A - Let's talk Exclusivity. Rights are maybe not the best word to use. Cantina alien variations - are you missing something significant, or is this just a weird memory? and TIE Striker nomenclature - I could use some help on this one.

And send in your questions for next week. Read on!

Hi everybody! As you may or may not know, I've been writing about Star Wars toys online for about 21 1/2 years. For the past 15 years, it's been here at Galactic Hunter, and also at 16bit.com. What you might not know is that just this last week, the keys to the server were handed over to me. Also, the bills to the server.

If you've been enjoying this site and all the toy news from the past 21 years, I'd love it if you could chip in via Patreon and help us out. We're hoping to get about $30 per month - this will keep Q&A and Figure of the Day flowing, and keep the archives online for as long as humanly possible.
