Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Darth Vader (Force Masters / Epic World of Action). Still in a Target near you, this slightly-repainted version of Vader has very nice red lenses and some red lightning on his hands. And lightsaber. And a big plastic wad of it, just for fun. It's more or less the same as the figure packed with the mech, plus or minus deco and gear. It's pretty impressive for the price, showing that there's a massive chasm continuing to grow between "expensive collector figure" and "perfectly good action figure." I like this set - it feels like a box of toys. Read on!

There wasn't much I felt like reporting on from Toy Fair this year, but there were two new entries in The Retro Collection with Captain Antilles and Wedge Antilles. As such, The Retro Collection Dump got a big update to the various lists and tallies with as much information as possible. It's a manual affair, so let me know if you see any errors.

Currently, Wedge and the Cap'n bring 2026 up to 6 total figures, and the entire line is up to 108 figures. This means that The Retro Collection could very well overtake the original Kenner collection in unique figure releases by the end of 2027. For those keeping track at home, Kenner released figures from 1978-1985 (8 years) while Hasbro will have been running The Retro Collection from 2019-2027 (9 years.)

She's the best version yet in terms of sculpt and engineering, but she also seems much more brightly colored - in line with the cartoons. If you don't have a Shaak Ti, get this one. Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Padmé Amidala (The Vintage Collection). This figure shows Hasbro's utter mastery of replicating characters from the 21st century with a head sculpt that's unmatched, with facial printing that's top-notch, and a very nice plastic wig to top it all off. Articulation is superb, and it's a lot better than the most recent 3 3/4-inch releases... and those were also amazing. If you're happy with what you have, don't look at one in person, because you'll be impressed and buy it. Read on!

Sure he's $20, but the hair looks great, he has decent accessories, and there are a bunch of unusual figure parts we probably won't see used ever again. This figure proves two heads are better than one, with a theatrical release/VHS-era head and a digital-era head. It's a good figure, with some parts from an existing Anakin figure as well as new ones. And also you can rip the figure's chest out with the head attached, so that's neat. Read on!

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Mandalorian Shriek-Hawk (Brown Chest Armor/No Rangefinder, The Vintage Collection). It's a mix of new and existing parts, or it was back in 2024 when it was new. The figure is part of a pretty nice four-pack, which should have been a massive hit. Boxed sets tend to not do as well as single-carded figures, and we might be getting a little Mando'ed out. That's too bad, as this is a nice figure with colorful armor and some nice gear. I'd recommend the set, especially since this affiliate link shows Amazon slashed the price since its debut. Read on!

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: IG-11 (Speeder Bike / Epic World of Action). This figure is exclusive to this set, and also Amazon. It lacks the "vest" of other figures, so the torso looks off - but otherwise? It's great! Articulation exceeds most of his peers, although The Vintage Collection still has him beat. With a couple of torso tweaks and two black rifles, I think most adult collectors would be happy with this one. After all, it comes with a uniquely decorated speeder bike, and Grogu, and an optional rocket launcher for the same price as a basic Vintage figure. Toys can be very good, so give this one a look. Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Sandtrooper (Stormtroopers of the Empire, The Vintage Collection). The backpack attaches by shoulder straps. It might not be exactly the same as on-screen Sandtroopers, it matches most fans' memory of them with black helmet lenses and little of the unique changes to the armor. But you do get an orange pauldron and three blasters, so it's a nifty figure that you wish you could just buy carded. Right now it's only in a 3-pack. Read on!

This is another Target exclusive from their 5-pack, where Luke loses the backpack for Grogu but gains green lightning on his hands. The lightsaber is also unique, in that it's Anakin's hilt with a green, crackling blade. Is it better than the 2024 model? Well, it's different, and probably the kind of thing we'd see more of if the line stuck around with a kid focus. If nothing else, it looks distinctive even if it isn't essential for lifers. Read on!

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R7-A7 (The Vintage Collection) . In the not-too-distant past, a few years ago A.D., Ahsoka Tano had to escape the Clones with the help of her robot friends. One of these was R7-A7, now marked down on Amazon. If you think you already had one, you're not wrong - there were cartoon versions from Hasbro and build-a-droid versions from Disney. This 2024 release is good, but it might feel repetitive. I also saw this droid - which comes in a 4-pack with Ahsoka - at Marshall's recently. Happy hunting. Read on!

It's not just the Stormtrooper mech with a new face - this is a whole new mold with new armor bits and clear plastic blasters. The figure pilot is more or less the same as the single carded release (that you can't find) with some added circuit detail.

The price has been bouncing up and down for months, so you might even be able to score a deal on it at some point - it's a very nice toy and it's a shame its Amazon exclusivity means people are unlikely to discover it on a toy aisle somewhere. Read on!
