Shipping in that wave of The Mandalorian figures, this Clone Trooper (The Vintage Collection) is the one you probably see left on pegs when you go out for toilet paper and ramen. It's really close to the figure from 10 years ago, but if you open it and pop off the helmet you'll see a new face painted underneath. It's a great troop builder, but do you need it anyway? Read on!
It's red! And new! You can a Sith Jet Trooper (The Black Series 6-Inch) if you luck into one during your provision quests or online shopping. It's pretty shiny and there's conflicting reference to the helmet grooves... so maybe it's accurate! Read on!
He's part of a group, but so far, he's the only one in this size! The Knight of Ren (The Black Series 6-Inch) is starting to show up now, but you can also order yours online. He has some great articulation with some excellent motion hidden in the shoulders behind a rubbery shirt, with some of the best articulation Hasbro has done with Star Wars in this scale. He can even mimic the designs in the publicity photos. Also, supposedly his name is "Vicrul" but that isn't on the box. Read on!
Hasbro has been really upping its game with the new 3 3/4-inch figures it puts out - reissues get better paint and brand new characters are often the very best we've ever seen. Cara Dune (The Vintage Collection) is up there with amazing accessories, a fantastic likeness, and top tier articulation. It's the kind of thing that makes you wish they'd give you a full line from The Mandalorian which, it is worth reminding people, is not planned. But you can get this one! Read on.
It's dirty and hopefully Hasbro makes a lot more of the Remnant Stormtrooper (The Vintage Collection)! Using the newer figure sculpt, the worn-out deco and flecks of damage just look marvelous. Get some. Read on!
Awesome and also a cruel tease, the The Mandalorian (The Vintage Collection) is one of Hasbro's best 3 3/4-inch figures this year. Sadly, it's not part of a much larger line with vehicles or playsets - but in and of itself, it's a must-buy. Go get one. Go for it. Read on!
A figure that you'll probably regret skipping in a couple of years is the Zorii Bliss (The Black Series 6-Inch) figure!
One of many awesome recent releases is Count Dooku (The Black Series 6-Inch) - it looks like Christopher Lee, it has a fantastic cape, and there's a spectuacular lightsaber swoosh. Read on!
Hasbro sent along even more pictures of new The Black Series and The Vintage Collection items - some of which you can pre-order right now at online shops like Entertainment Earth and others which are not paid advertisers. What's new, you ask? Ewoks. Ackbars. But no Jeffs. Who here woke up this week and thought we would see a Return of the Jedi batch of figures, let alone Admiral Ackbar? Not me!
Hasbro sent along a picture archive of one of a few new reveals today with STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES CARBONIZED COLLECTION 6-INCH BOBA FETT Figure. The same mold has been in use since 2013, but these shiny figures tend to do well with chase fans and Christopher Radko enthusiasts. It's coming soon, and you can see it right now.
Hasbro says:
Did you miss Walmart's exclusive Star Wars The Black Series Carbonized Collection First Order Jet Trooper Toy 6-inch Scale Collectible Action Figure? That's a mouthful, and I only saw it in stores a couple of times. Walmart.com has it now for $20.88, much cheaper than the roughly $25 it cost me last fall. Get it while you can!
You know him, you love him, you know he's not quite accurate to the TV show. But IG-11 (The Black Series 6-Inch) is pretty great - the deco is phenomenal, the bandoliers are good, but the hands and a few other details aren't quite right. He can stand and hold his blasters, though. Is it good enough to buy? Read on!
After 43 years at Kenner and Hasbro, veteran toy designer and the man responsible for a lot of what we love about this hobby is retiring, according to The Toybook and elsewhere. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Boudreaux at a few conventions over the years and he was exactly as gracious as you would hope - plus he has tons of stories about the little details on a lot of your favorite vehicles.
