By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 23, 2020

3844 In "if this doesn't make you nervous, nothing will" news, Walgreens Exclusive Star Wars: The Black Series Clone Trooper Lieutenant!  This completes the Attack of the Clones quartet of ranking officers and is expected to be in stores next month.  (There are other non-Star Wars Hasbro exclusives coming too... but those haven't been announced yet.)  It's the repaint you expected, and a handy addition to your Clone gaggles.

Star Wars GameStop Exclusive The Black Series Jedi Fallen Order Purge Trooper with Electrostaff

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 23, 2020

3842 GameStop got The Black Series Jedi Fallen Order Purge Trooper with Electrostaff!  Who's surprised? The last version sold out quickly and hopefully will show up again somehow, some day, for those who missed out.  This new version is up for pre-order now for $24.99.  (Protip: shipping is free when you buy 2. That's what I did.  You can trade it for the one you miss later.)

Star Wars: Celebrate the Saga Amazon Exclusives

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 23, 2020

Not to be outdone are two packs for Amazon.  These are great for your average consumer, but the long-term collector already has most of these.  These are what you'll be buying for Christmas presents to the kids you're going to force Star Wars upon this holiday season.  Best Buy got the villains, and Amazon got the heroes.  As far as I can tell, none of these figures are particularly new other than R2-D2 looks like a different combo platter of parts for you completists.

The figures are largely collected from The Force Awakens, Saga Legends, The Last Jedi.

You can click here to order them from Amazon.com, and yes we do get a few pennies through that affiliate link so please do click it.

Star Wars: Celebrate the Saga Best Buy Exclusives

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 23, 2020

3838 For the Celebrate the Saga line, Hasbro gave Best Buy two exclusive 5-packs for $29.99 a pop.  You can click here to order them if supplies are still available.   The First Order set does not appear to have new figures, but may have deco changes - we'll keep you posted in Figure of the Day as these arrive in the next couple of months.   Its Galactic Empire set does have a new droid redeco which may be of more interest - Hasbro and Disney have done many R2-Q5 figures over the years, but this one looks different, so prepare to shell out some cash.

Click here to check availability.  We are not in an affiiliate program with them so if you want to support the site, click our other affiliate links/advertisers.

Star Wars: Celebrate the Saga to Retire 5POA?

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 23, 2020

3835 Hasbro's Celebrate the Saga collection includes 8 packs.  4 are main line, 2 are for Amazon exclusives, and 2 are Best Buy exclusives.  The pitch I heard was each set has 5-jointed figures and is the last hurrah for the format - at least for now - with 4-5 figures brought back and 0-1 redeco droids.  It looks like they may have enhanced face paint, but it's hard to tell from the photos and I did not hear about it previously.

Each set is due this fall for about $29.99.  Click here to order at affiliate/advertiser Amazon, or click here to order at Entertainment Earth.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,718: Battle Droid (Geonosis, The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 20, 2020

If you liked it in tan, or in red at GameStop, you'll also probably love the Battle Droid (Geonosis, The Black Series 6-Inch)!   It's loaded with articulation, incudes a backpack you can swap out for an antenna pack, and can crounch down into a "deploy" mode if you're so inclined.  It's a great sculpt and hopefully we'll see a few more of these brought out and reissued over the coming months to meet squad building demand.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,716: Anakin Skywalker (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 13, 2020

The Attack of the Clones edition of Anakin Skywalker (The Black Series 6-Inch) is one of Hasbro's very best action figures.  Sure, it reuses some parts from the Revenge of the Sith version, but that head is a gem.   The paint and the sculpt are absolutely on point, so you should get one. I don't care if you don't like the prequels, you just need to get one and give it an up-close look because it is a little plastic triumph.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,715: Moloch (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, August 11, 2020

The Target-exclusive Moloch (The Black Series 6-Inch)  is most likely long gone from your store shelves, but if you see it, it's pretty cool. It's a big worm alien and it looks right at home in Jabba's Palace, which is good as Hasbro has been hesitant to outfit that scene with additional figures.  Read on!

Halloween Star Wars Droid at Disney - BB-BOO20

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 9, 2020

3826 UPDATE: MyDisneyShop's selling it online. $14.99 + shipping.  It does not appear to be run by Disney, but the price seems lowest so far.

The pumpkin-themed BB-BOO20 is showing up at Disney parks - and maybe elsewhere - across the USA.  While the theme parks are closed, eBay is open - and that's where we're seeing these now.  They're about $13 in stores, so when buying yours keep in mind tax is a couple of bucks and shipping is usually $5 or less.

The figure is a redeco fo the popular build-a-droid format BB droids we've been seeing for a few years, so they split in the middle and have removable heads.  They're neat.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,714: Boba Fett (Carbonzed Graphite, The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 6, 2020

The Boba Fett (Carbonzed Graphite, The Black Series 6-Inch)  is stunning.  For a toy you got in 2013, this metallic deco really makes every last crease and ding pop.  If you're happy with your old Boba Fett you owe it to yourelf to look at this one, if you have the opportunity.  As a de facto online exclusive (plus or  minus a comic shop) that probably means you should just buy one.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,713: Gonk Droid (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, August 4, 2020

The Gonk Droid (Droid Factory Line Look)  changes colors from a 1970s blue to a 1990s grey!  It's cool.  Well, when it's cool, it's blue, and when it's warm it goes grey.   It also comes with a playset.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,712: R5-D23 (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, July 30, 2020

R5-D23 (Droid Factory Line Look) was an exclusive from D-23, a convention for when people used to gather for conventions to celebrate Disney, a company that used to put movies into theaters.   It's a redeco R5-D4 mold with a nifty hat - unlike the previous releases, this one lacks Mickey Mouse ears.   It's neat! But it's not as colorful as the R4-D23.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,711: C1 Astromech (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 28, 2020

While a lot of the Disney-made droid figures are derived from Hasbro elements, this C1 Astromech (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look) is better than Hasbro's 3 3/4-inch releases.  Chopper here has articulated arms and a pop-out data widget like the previous release, but can also change color - he turns black when he's chilled!  If you touch it during the summer, it's going to turn classic orange real fast.  It's a good figure from a four-pack at a Galaxy's Edge theme park shop that you can't (or maybe shouldn't) visit right now, but is it worth getting the set?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,710: Dak Ralter (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, July 23, 2020

It's Dak Ralter (The Black Series 6-Inch)! This comes with the Snowspeeder vehicle, which is feature-packed and has a kind of a crummy clear plastic used for the glass canopy.  Otherwise it's all splendid and worthwhile.  Read on!

Target Getting Star Wars Galaxy's Edge The Black Series Captain Cardinal

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, July 21, 2020

3819 Coming soon to Target, Galaxy's Edge The Black Series 6-inch Captain Cardinal Action Figure.  Or "Who?"

The world is changing, and Star Wars fandom has quietly changed from the 1990s original-trilogy focused marketing to kids of the 1970s - which arguably peaked with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - to an attempt to try to make it a franchise for all people.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  The young-skewing Resistance series just sort of got swept under the rug - and it feels like The Rise of Skywalker is joining it.   To promote the era of the First Order, there are lots of comics, lots of books, and a giant theme park experience that a lot of people just plain can't go see right now.  Captain Cardinal is part of that.  It's a new generation of fan, and one that the olds probably didn't have the time to read up on before being shown this shiny new figure.

Basically a red Stormtrooper in a cape, the figure has two blasters and even though I have not and probably will not read the novel from which he came, I can say it's a cool figure.  I'll buy a red Stormtrooper.  Heck, that's something I pushed hard to do a few years ago.  But I digress - Hasbro says:
