Also in stores now, the new Millennium Falcon from The Force Awakens.  I saw it at Toys R Us (and got one from Entertainment Earth), and the going rate is currently $139.99.   It's the same size as the vintage Kenner one from 1978, with lots of new bells and whistles - and the figures fit in it pretty well, to boot.   Motion-sensing sound effects, a light-up targeting computer, and a "dirty" BB-8 figure are just some of the highlights.

...I'm also quite taken with the Nerf dart launcher.  That sucker is super strong, and really fires across a room nicely.   While not as big as the legendary 2008 version of this toy, I'm having plenty of fun with this one so far.

Surprising no one, the Black Series 6-inch TIE Fighter is huge.  Really, really huge.  I saw a pair of them today at a Phoenix area Toys R Us for $169.99 a pop.

Oh boy, new MicroMachines!  Some of these are shipping now - 3 new 3-packs are part of wave 2 and I've already got them here on my desk.  (2 X-Wings and a TIE, Falcon/Executor/TIE Bomber, ROTS Jedi Starfighter/ARC-170/Droid Tri-Fighter).

Other new entries include new blind bags and yes, new 5-packs.  Do you want to see these?  I certainly hope so, because I'm posting them for you regardless - I'm collecting these and I assume you are too.  Do it.

What's this?  Why, it's new Titanium Series vehicles!  The A-Wing, Imperial Shuttle, Jakku Landspeeder, Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, Republic Gunship, Sith Infiltrator, and Star Destroyer are all here.  (Some are returning champions.)  They're all still quite cheap, thankfully, so you can get 'em in stores soon.   Images after the jump.

It's here! Very few new exclusives have actually hit, but Toys R Us' exclusive First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter is out now.  You get a little more paint for $42.99, a $3 markup over the regular version at $39.99.

The pilot is very similar to the regular version, but with added red stripes on his helmet.  If you've seen the 181st Pilots or some of the specially marked ones from the original trilogy, you know what to expect.   The TIE itself has some light brown dusting, but not any scorch marks on the wings.  Just dust.   The good news is that both the figure and vehicle are both visually quite interesting.  The bad news is that it lowers the bar for vehicle deco variants - snow on the boots were a thing we've seen on figures for a few years, but sand damaged vehicles is, of course, a completely new thing.

Ad: Entertainment Earth added two new Hasbro Star Wars exclusives to its all-new The Force Awakens shop! The first-ever Crimson Stormtrooper figure is in a new all-Empire The Black Series boxed set, and from The Force Awakens comes a Desert Assault Walker with a swell Sandtrooper-inspired First Order Stormtrooper Officer.

It's shipping! I got the Imperial Troop Transport from Star Wars Rebels when I ordered it at Entertainment Earth (available here now in a case with 2 per box). It's neat! It has articulated front cannons, 2 firing rockets, storage for 9 figures, and places to keep bunches of weapons. It does not have funny hats, wheels, a record player, or a large trunk for storage. It's super tall! The Star Wars Rebels AT-DP Vehicle is able to seat one 3 3/4-inch scale action figure with another popping out the top hatch. It has moving legs, a firing rocket, and a rotating head - all of which you can see, after the jump.

It's here! The Star Wars Rebels The Inquisitor's TIE Advanced Prototype Vehicle is one of three all-new entries into the sacred canon of 3 3/4-inch scale action figure vehicles. We don't get new ones very often, so it's a day to be excited about. You can order it online, you can find it in a store, but the important thing here is that you try to get one - it's pretty slick. The rumors were true!  Hasbro is indeed releasing a Millennium Falcon in a few months exclusively at Walmart, sans action figure compatibility.  It's big, it's cheap, and it's pictured after the break - with pricing and other useful information.

A giant X-wing is en route from Hasbro, and YodasNews.com shows it won't be alone.  A Millennium Falcon of generous proportions - seemingly the 2008 Big Millennium Falcon minus figure compatibility and electronics - is on the way.  The packaging boasts it's over 2 feet long, and Yoda's News says it may be a Walmart exclusive.  Click here to see it.

Has Mustafar frozen over?  Sponsor Entertainment Earth posted two assortments - Hot Wheels Star Wars cars and Track Sets - with no pictures as of yet, but a September release date.  Mattel's first step into a larger world should prove exciting, as they have made die-cast metal vehicles from numerous licenses in many forms.

Earlier in the week, a few Disney and Star Wars bloggers were whisked away by the House of Mouse to check out a number of upcoming toys in development for sale in The Disney Store retail outlets. An example of something taught in schools as "vertical integration," we now have a company absorbing numerous parts of a business - not only do they make the movie, own the rights, hire the actors, own the characters, and sell the product, but they're going to design and manufacture it in house, too. This article looks at the die-cast vehicle segment, which brings back metal in a meaty way with $10-$20 ships. Each of the 12 new vehicles has moving parts, is due later this year, and will likely remind the very older and infirmed of us of Kenner's lovely and memorable offerings from 1978-1981-ish.
