Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,113: Princess Kneesaa (Ewoks Cartoon, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, March 5, 2024

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Princess Kneesaa (Ewoks Cartoon, The Vintage Collection). This is a redeco, with slightly different gear - one hood is missing. But you get a bag and a coin that you didn't get on the last release. The packaging is nice, at least. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,081: Wicket W. Warrick (Ewoks Cartoon, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 14, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Wicket W. Warrick (Ewoks Cartoon, The Vintage Collection). Depending on how you look at it, it's great. In person, the hood is a little on the neon orange side - but it looks good in pictures, and is not quite the yellowish hues seen on 1980s Ewok advertising artwork. There's a lot to like, and a little to complain about, but you get a good coin and really nice packaging for (what else) a premium price.

It's still cheaper than the one Kenner made in the 1980s.

Disney+ Bringing Ewoks, Boba Fett, and More Clone Wars in April

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, March 16, 2021

In "I can't believe it" news, Disney+ is adding Ewoks to their line-up. Also a number of other 1970s and 1980s Star Wars small-screen action, of which the Endor furballs made up the most volume. (Conspicuously absent: Droids, a cartoon with R2-D2, C-3PO, Boba Fett, IG-88, Mini-Rigs, and of course, Vlix.)

A Disney+ line-up making the rounds in the press mentioned the following Star Wars highlights:
April 2
Caravan Of Courage (or in the USA, The Ewok Adventure)

Ewoks: The Battle For Endor

Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume I

Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume II

Star Wars: Ewoks (S1)

Star Wars: Ewoks (S2)

1985 Ewoks Cartoon Apparel at Box Lunch in 2019

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, December 30, 2019

We generally don't cover clothing here, but this was too much to ignore.   Ewoks cartoon imagery now appears on Box Lunch-exclusive shirts at a mall presumably near you, or this web site.  Very little has been made in the Nelvana cartoon style in ages, with precious few items made inspired by that series.  It's also worth noting that the shirts are pretty pricey and sadly there were no companion Droids items yet.

Lost Ewok Cartoon Kenner Figures Found after Three Decades

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 4, 2017

As a kid, one of the things that always confused me was the make-up of the Ewoks cartoon TV series action figure line.  Why would there be only 6 figures, only 2 of which were regulars and heroes?  A line with 4 Dulok villains seemed odd, and when I saw the second series prototypes a few years later I was even more confused - where's Teebo?  Where's Kneesaa?   How could Chituhr be more popular?

Well, the Star Wars Collectors Archive may have found part of the answer.  In an article Unknown Ewoks: Unearthed Figures from the Animated Series, we see four unproduced Ewoks from that era.  These characters were largely more important to the series and the brief marketing juggernaut of Ewok licensed products in that era.   Perhaps Star Wars could have had a presence for a few more years were these made instead - I remember seeing pegs upon pegs of unsold Duloks (and the occasional Logray) at Kay-Bee toy stores for $1 each for quite some time, and while I did buy Logray on sight I never saw Wicket.  (Or, as Droids went, R2-D2 and C-3PO.)

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,039: Chubbray (Ewok Assault Catapult)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, October 21, 2013

Check it out - it's Chubbray!  He/she is a new Ewok from the Kmart Ewok Assault Catapult, possibly at a store near you as you read this.  Click here to read all about it!

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, June 28, 2013

Ja, das haben die Ewoks so gerneStarwars-Figuren.com has shots of the Kmart-exclusive Ewok Assault Catapult set that was alluded to back at Toy Fair but not seen until, well, now.  It has 2 new Ewok figures in a vintage-style box with a catapult accessory and appears to be official Hasbro photography.

Galactic Hunter Video Theater Presents: Ewoks - Sunstar vs. Shadowstone

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, November 17, 2012

As a kid, the TV show Ewoks was a pretty significant part of my Star Wars experience. After all, as of 1983 they were basically the new direction of the franchise with two spin-off films and 26 half-hours on the teevee. The characters saw some rather severe redeisgns along with some pretty creative villains drawing from existing concepts and fantastic newness. This week we look at Sunstar vs. Shadowstone, which stood out in my head for years as a massive mighty magic match-up between Logray, the Ewok Medicine Man, and Morag, the Tulgah Witch.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,868

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, August 10, 2012

If you ask me, and most people do, there's nothing more exciting than a new 1980s Expanded Universe figure. ESPECIALLY if it's an Ewok like Kneesaa, new to stores this week! How is she? Read on!

Image Bank: VC55 Logray (Ewok Medicine Man)

By Mike — Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Hasbro does a great job with an all new, nicely articulated Logray and even better having him in his original Kenner card. While the figure included in the POTF2 Ewok 2 pack wasn't bad for its time,  this will be the definite version of the furry shaman for awhile.
