This Imperial TIE Fighter Pilot is the one from the TIE Striker - it's a heck of a nice figure and the first 100%-new 3 3/4-inch movie-based Imperial pilot in over a decade. If they sold this figure individually with various helmet variants, you'd be happy to buy them. Read on!
From StarWars.com: 2012 ushers in a return to the beginning of the Star Wars saga with Episode I in theaters. It seems only fitting, then, that the iconic Phantom Menace Sith Lord should land himself on product packaging spanning the entire Star Wars saga. Check out the new look after the jump!
Hasbro put on their fancy duds today to show off their latest new and shiny goodies for 2011. Here's a PDF of the Power Point presentation for your perusal. The whole gang is here - including Bastilla Shan (not shown in the showroom) and the Mail-Away Prototype Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett. Enjoy, and let us know what you think of this year's starting line-up.
Warwick Davis, the actor inside the furry suit of everyone's favorite Ewok, Wicket, stopped by the Hasbro pavilion to check out the new Wicket figure (this time sporting the non-animated brown hood) and pose for photos with fans and even Hasbro/Star Wars team members. (Most importantly, he was able get the accurate brown hood placed on the little furball figure.) Check it out, and the big smile says it all.
Here's a quick update from the Hasbro booth. Beleaguered Rebel fly-boy Wedge Antilles will be coming out on a Return of the Jedi cardback (#26) in a future wave. He will keep the number that he would have in the current collection despite shipping later on. As was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, the Wedge Antilles figure is being delayed to improve the sculpt.
Wedge Antilles has been released time-and time again improving little by little (from the Power of the Force 2 "buff era", as a kitbashed exclusive for New Force Comics during the Original Trilogy Collection, and at least 9,000 other attempts. This time out for the vaunted Vintage Collection, the crew at Hasbro hopes (fingers crossed) to definitively nail the sculpt. (We wish them lots of luck.)
The proof card of the day at the Hasbro Comic-Con booth is Bespin Luke. Two more cards remaining and we've been told they will be Boba Fett and Han Solo. Hasbro's on point with these awesome mock proof cards and here's hoping they return for Celebration V!
