Lost Star Wars Droid Factory Carded Samples on eBay

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, September 5, 2014

While we prefer not to link to eBay auctions, the one for Star Wars Carded Unproduced Wave 1 2013 Droid Factory set of 12 unreleased was too good to pass up.  It's one of two known sets to exist - I've seen a couple of these up-close and know of only one privately held set - so if you want it, now is the time to cough up some dough. These are not the same exact ones on Amazon, although those figures are present - as are some of the first The Black Series wave 1 figures in their original packaging.

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 31, 2014

It's Labor Day, but I don't get to stop Q&A because it means I'll die. Let's talk vintage Star Wars from the good old days - do you have any idea just how dang many of these things actually were made? A lot. And street dates, and how they will likely not impact your Rebels hunting. Hot Wheels? Don't mind if I do - all this and more await you this week! It's neat neat neat. I need lunch. Read on!

Also if you enjoyed Titanium Series 3-inch vehicles, you'll want to scroll down to the end.

As always, send in your questions for next time. Read on!

3 Jumbo Kenner Figures for $100 - Gentle Giant Labor Day Special

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, August 30, 2014

The Droid 3-Pack AFX Exclusive Kenner Jumbo Figures - Death Star Droid, R5-D4, and Power Droid - were boxed together with a swell background about a year ago.  Gentle Giant still has a few around and now it's a mere $100 for the set - basically three for the price of one.   While issues like "space" and "not having several thousand dollars" may keep people like you and me from collecting them all, $33.33 a pop is a swell deal.  Click through to see if they have any left.

Six Second Toy Talk: The Black Series Ree-Yees Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, August 29, 2014

With three eyes, Ree-Yees has been one of the more recognizable aliens form the Star Wars saga since his 1983 action figure debut. Kenner refreshed him in 1998 and this 2014 edition is the first new one in over a decade. He's a big upgrade on almost every possible metric, minus a new ball joint in the waist popping apart easily which means he pretty much can't sit. However, he does have sculpted trigger fingers which was nothing short of amazing. Go ahead and get one. Also note cameos by Boba Fett and the previous Kenner Ree-Yees figures in Six Second Toy Talk, after the break.

Q&A: Figure Futures, Buckets, New Lines, Scale, and Star Wars Ships

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 24, 2014

It's Q&A time! Let's look at future new line as well as the inevitable demise of some form of figure, eventually. We can also look at big ships that don't meet your expectations, as well as Marvel scale problems because why not.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,097: Ree-Yees (The Black Series 2014)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 21, 2014

He's good!  Ree-Yees is Hasbro's finest work in the field of Gran development.  If you need a figure to stand on a Sail Barge or Jabba's Throne Room diorama, there is none better.  I assume most readers of this site are not concerned about figures sitting, because trying to make him sit will cause his torso to blow open.  (It's easily remedied, like the ball-joint head on most figure necks.) Due to how this figure is likely to perform in your life, this is probably going to have to be rounded up to acceptable as there are no real vehicles for him right now.  Is this figure the go-to Ree-Yees you've been waiting for? Yes.  But read on anyway for more pictures!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,096: Jabba's Skiff Guard (The Black Series 2014)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, August 20, 2014

It's Jabba's Skiff Guard!  Or Brock Starsher, or Sgt. Doallyn, or whatever - the important thing is that this guy, with this helmet, is now a thing you can actually own.  He looks like his cousins from The Legacy Collection and sports 2 neat accessories.  Is he exceptional? No.  Does it matter? Also no - he's a legit new character, without question, and as such a required addition to your toy shelves.  Read on!

Star Wars Rebels: October 3 on TV, Earlier Online

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, August 19, 2014

As I am lazy and the headline says most of the story, let me just quote this article from the official site regarding the next Star Wars TV show's debut:

"Leading up to its global television debut [with the October 3 telefilm], Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will be available on Disney Channel SVOD and to verified users beginning Monday, September 29, on WATCHDisneyXD.com and the WATCH Disney XD app."

The Biggest Star Wars Boba Fett Figure Ever Is Up for Pre-Order

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, August 19, 2014

I expected that Jakks Pacific would hold the crown with a 20- or even 31-inch take on the Bounty Hunter we all love, but no - this was not to be.  It turns out that the Comic-Con debut of the  Star Wars Boba Fett Life-Size Vintage Kenner Action Figure (pre-order yours, if you dare) takes the cake at 6-feet tall.  Gentle Giant makes this figure to sell similarly sized Stormtrooper and Darth Vader action figures.  That's 72-inches of your Boba Fettish complete with red rocket, blue blaster, and a display stand.   Having seen one up close myself, I can tell you that it's the kind of thing any of us should be so lucky to have in our office.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,095: Wedge Antilles (The Black Series 2014)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Check out the new Wedge Antilles, Hoth-style.  It's good!  He has a helmet and two guns.  It's great - and I think you'll enjoy the new head sculpt.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,094: Darth Vader (The Black Series 2014)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, August 18, 2014

Almost the greated Darth Vader figure ever conceived is in today's Figure of the Day! The Episode III 2014 incarnation is so, so close - but the head falls off really easily.  The bend-and-swivel wrists, rocker ankles, and ball-jointed torso are perfection.  The ball-jointed hips? Wonderous. The sculpt is pretty good too - but if you turn the head, the helmet falls right off.  Still, diorama fans should snag it and carded fans too.  Read on!  (Also order yours at Entertainment Earth.)

Q&A: Star Wars Exclusives, Expanded Universe, Skiff Guards, and More

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 17, 2014

Let's talk Star Wars Exclusives in Q&A this week! Do you need to buy those new sets at Target? How about Skiff Guards - will Hasbro ever make them all? Why aren't we seeing more Expanded Universe figures - and why are we seeing any when Hasbro says they're off the table? All this and more!

Also Black Series Wave 5 is shipping - want to know the short version on who's good? I've got 'em, so I'll tell you here - be back for more in Figure of the Day later on Monday!

Feel free to send in your questions for next time. Read on!

Star Wars Command Millennium Falcon Set - Hoth and Beyond

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 14, 2014

The Star Wars Command line is, at its core, green army men for Star Wars. This means we get many things that are not green, of an army, or men. The 9-packs of figures at $5-$7 each are pure joy - cheap, good, high-quality figures that are basically 40 years past their prime... but for those who appreciate toys for the sake of toys, they're unfiltered joy.

Bigger sets like Star Wars Rebels Command Millennium Falcon bring more to the table - this one has 33 "pieces", so says the box. What you really get are 6 clear vehicle stands, 6 small vehicles, 2 "sleds" to motorize the vehicles, a pull-back fully-painted Millennium Falcon, and about two dozen monocolor "army men" figures, most of which are from The Empire Strikes Back.

Read on for more! Or don't. Spend your morning working instead, when you could just be looking busy and having a good time. See if I care.
