Hasbro Delivers New Star Wars 6-Inch Scale Figures to Family Dollar

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, February 27, 2016

If you're a living, breathing fan of Star Wars it's a safe bet that you're always looking for something new.  Well, I've found it.   We saw images of a Finn last year, which I have yet to see here in the USA, but I have seen new 6-inch action figures of Kanan Jarrus, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader at Family Dollar.   Presumably these are showing up elsewhere, too.  Each one is roughly sized for your The Black Series counterparts with the same articulation as the simplified 3 3/4-inch and 12-inch figures, and they borrow heavily from the same sculpts.  As I type this I have not yet opened them - you'll be reading about them here soon though - and they're $6.75 a pop.  A Han Solo figure was also shown on the back of the box, and these are similar to other Hasbro figures for Marvel and Transformers that, odds are, you do not see in your usual toy haunts.

They are not soft vinyl - they're pretty much the same material as your standard action figures.  Of particular note are Kanan's gun - it's included as a separate accessory.  Vader's cape is plastic.

We'll probably look at all three in Figure of the Day this week if I can get my stuff together, because boy howdy is it busy here in my Hobbit Hole.  This is, of course, the nickname for my underground office and not something else.  I purchased all the store had - one each of these three - as nothing else was visible.  The same store also had some pretty slick "mini" TMNT 2-packs based on the original Playmates action figure designs and some discount store exclusive Transformers, Legends/Legion-scale Ultra Magnus, Skywarp, and Cliffjumper.

Here's one last shot comparing a 3 3/4-inch Kanan to the not-yet-opened 6-inch figure. It's worth noting these smaller figures are made in Vietnam and not China, and as of yet I have not seen them for sale online or any specific name as to what to call them.  Half-Titans?   Bigger Figgers?   Linda?   We'll come up with something, but until then, thank you for reading and if you find the Han or Finn or something else, please do send me a set.

Upon further research, 6-inch figures of Darth Vader were seen in Mexico along with Kylo Ren, a Snowtrooper, Finn, and a Stomtrooper.
