StarWars.com Reveals Chopper Astromech Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 28, 2014

In 2005 we met the Chopper Droid, and a few years later we met Chopper the Clone Trooper.  Now meet Chopper the Astromech Droid, new for this year's upcoming animated Star Wars Rebels.  Based on Ralph McQuarrie's concept R2-D2, the little guy will also be an action figure later this year.  Click here for more - he's hidden in the gallery.

S.U.C.K.L.E. Figures from Kickstarter Arriving, Star Wars References Aplenty

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 27, 2014

While not exactly official toys, it's worth noting that the Super Sucklord's S.U.C.K.L.E. Figures are arriving if you pledged to his Kickstarter.  Distributed by DKE Toys, sculpted by George "OMFG" Gaspar, and based on various bootlegs made by the Sucklord, these may be the feelgood weirdo toy of the season.  If you like the idea of Chippendale Stormtroopers or Boba Fett helmets on guys in suits, you're going to want to see these.

Boutros77's Star Wars Cantina Diorama on Flickr

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Because I've never seen a link on another site that wasn't too good to repost, check out Boutros77's Cantina Diorama Gallery on Flickr.  Dozens of 3 3/4-inch scale shots of various figures in a diorama setting that's, frankly, too good for someone not to mass produce.  Be sure to check this one out.

Star Wars Mission Series Utapau, Bespin Packs Coming

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Further proving that the "rumor" list wasn't a rumor list, Andrew's Toyz posted shots of Mission Series Utapau and Mission Series Bespin to Facebook.  The good news for newcomers is that these are great-looking figures.  For those of us who have been here, it seems Obi-Wan Kenobi may be the same as the single-carded figure, and Darth Vader appears to be a repack of last year's Mission Star Destroyer.  On the bright side, there's a new Bespin Luke and General Grievous in here.

On Flickr, Avanaut's Star Wars Scale Model Project shows off the photography (and modeling) skills of one Vesa Lehtimäki.  This talented artisan has incredible outdoor photos with skillfully built and lit MPC models from the 1980s.

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, January 19, 2014

Let's talk about reissues - not the ones you're getting, but the ones you want. Let's also talk droid display options - becuse we need more. And Star Wars: Rebels figures, about which we know pretty much nothing. We've got more, and we'll have more next week - send in your questions, and read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,080: Merumeru (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, January 17, 2014

It's hiatus time again! But first - meet Merumeru, a Wookiee warrior that is a stunningly great improvement over previous Wookiee warriors.  At first glance I thought it was a tweaked version of a previous figure, but I was wrong!  It's really good.  Go get one. Read on

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,079: Clone Commander Neyo (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 16, 2014

FOTD is going on break after this week, but we've still got Clone Commander Neyo and one more figure to go!  He's not perfect, but it's a superior update for the character and as an added bonus, he included some TV Clone Wars detailing on his face.  Even more surprising, Hasbro retooled the back of his armor to look distinctive and different from the other Clones.  Read on!

New Saga Legends Images: Snowtrooper, Darth Maul

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 15, 2014

Andrew's Toys has posted images for Saga Legends Darth Maul and Snowtrooper figures on Facebook.  These will join previously announced Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and another Clone Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, previously announced by Hasbro.  No date is known for these two, but since we have packaged shots I'd bank on "soon."  Click here to see them.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,078: Vizam (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 15, 2014

It's new! There was a previous version a few years back, but Vizam the Nikto brings us another update from the 6-joint era!  It's nice, it has a helmet, and it has another cool clamp-on cannon for the Sail Barge Hasbro will never make.  Aren't you lucky?  Read on

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,077: Darth Plagueis (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Sith happens! Aside from a brief mention in Revenge of the Sith, the design, character, and general sense of Darth Plagueis can be described as being very very dark in his costuming and quite well constructed.  Is he important?  Well, that's up to you.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,076: Mace Windu (The Black Series)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 13, 2014

A re-retool, the new The Black Series Mace Windu takes the 30th Anniversary/Vintage Collection figure body, give him new arms and a new head, and presto - improved figure!  The wrist movement is about perfect, and I dig the new elements a lot.  Read on!

So, you want to know more about 6-inch figures! Good for you - let's do that. Also let's talk vehicles, prequel prototypes as a way to predict Episode VII leaks, and much more in this week's Q&A!
