If you aren't busy watching the David Hasslehoff music video for True Survivor, please take a moment to look at these new droids. As you know, we were told to expect new Droid Factory action figures at the Disney park building experience/shop/assembly line. Reader Colin sent in two images and tells us:
"Hey Adam just want to say I did find the droids at Disneyland this afternoon. Was told 11 but only found 9. Here are some photos."
Thank you, Colin! Check out the pictures after the break. Also, today's secret word is "sombrero."
The Rebels Stormtrooper Commander is a must-buy because it comes with Hera. It's also pretty neat - like every custom Sandtrooper before 1996, it's just a Stormtrooper with a shoulder pad. That's pretty much it, and that's really all it needs to be. I like it. Read on!
As a fan of music stuff, I recently bought an album from K Records - and this morning I got an email informing me of a group called If It Ain't Breakfast Don't Fix It. There Will Be Casualties is a new cassette tape (really) new release with MP3 download code, and hand-stamped cover art by Jillian Chaplain featuring one Dark Lord of the Sith. It's not super Star Warsy, but for those who collect stuff from the creative edges of a galaxy far, far away this might be $8.00 well spent.
You can see more shots of it - including the Band-Aid used to seal the tape's box, plus links to sample tracks - here.
Ad: Two new Star Wars Hikari Vinyl Figures are up at Entertainment Earth today! First up: Star Wars Hikari Grey Skull Wampa. Limited to 250 pieces, this exclusive figure is due around June.
Next up, the Shadow Trooper. 1,000 pieces will be made of this black Stormtrooper, and he's due in July. Pre-order yours now!
Shannon came through with two more individually carded action figures. Holographic R2-D2 is exclusive to Star Wars Weekends in the Florida park, so I'll be relying on you guys to help me out.
For D23 is another Droid with a Sorcerer's cap, and in the interest of speedy coverage we present to you this blurry image so we have something to share immediately. (How do I get these?)
Another image Shannon Cosman snapped for us: Star Wars Rebel Trainer! Shannon says that the R2-D2 will project TIE Fighter images on the walls and you are to shoot them! Keeps score and has levels of difficulty.
This is just one of many items being revealed in Anaheim right now - more as we have it!
Surprise! Pal of mine Shannon Cosman snapped this photo of new figures using the build-a-droid parts that, we are told, are going up for grabs at Disney parks today. As to how many there are, and the other finer details, we don't know yet.
Four new hats were also shown.
You may already own an Episode VII action figure - if not, here's how to get it.
The advantages of obsessive completism rarely manifest themselves so clearly. This morning at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, four new Astromech domes were unveiled for the new movie. These were said to be for various X-Wings and background elements, but one looked very familiar.
It turns out that it's because we reviewed something very close to it in 2012!

Check out Ezra Bridger (Cadet) from the Mission Series. It's the first alternate costume figure for one of the Rebels cast, so it's a pretty exciting thing to have here! He has a recolored helmet, a slightly shorter build, and a pretty great paint job. Read the full review!
UPDATE: Now featuring 23 stills from the panel after the break.
It's almost time! It's over! The streaming of Celebration VII starts in a few minutes - or right now, depending on when you're reading this. The first video is at 10:00 AM Pacific, so see if you're too late for the Episode VII panel below.
According to video game importer and delightful resource NCS, a Star Wars Helmet Replica Collection is on the way from Bandai. Check it out here. A factory sealed set of 6 boxes has miniature replicas of Boba Fett, C-3PO, Darth Vader, R2-D2, a Stormtrooper, and a TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet. Unless there's a secret helmet.
From the Mission Series line, here's Luke Skywalker (Hoth)! He's got Wampa damage and is a pretty good modern update to the original 1982 Kenner action figure. I've been seeing a few of these in stores this week, so I'd suggest getting while the getting is good and the pricing isn't increased. Read on!
Why pay for a hotel when you can go to Celebration VII free while you're at work?
StarWars.com updated with a feature explaining that you can watch a number of panels live from your computer. Or if you're one of the very young and hip, your "phone." Obviously you're denied the exclusives, the costumes, the lines, and new adventures in what qualifies as food, but you can see some of the fun at home. (Memo to Comic-Con in San Diego: copy this.)
If you like designer toys - and I know you do - you'll want to visit the Glyos News Dump blog for a post I wrote called " C2E2 The Godbeast C2E2 2015 Offerings." A limited run of figures nodding to things you know and love will be on sale from Marty "The Godbeast" Hansen at the Nerd City booth. He does great stuff, and I've picked up some of his other offerings over the years.
