Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi, The Retro Collection). Let's wrap up Old School September with this figure that looks like it came out of 1984. He's got a blaster, he's got a lightsaber, and he has one of Hasbro's very best Jedi Robes - which is surprising, given it's a retro figure. I really like this one. Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Fifth Brother (The Retro Collection). It's a good one - I like the double-bladed lightsaber, I like the lack of a vinyl cape, I like how he stands and sits and fits in my vehicles. He's fun to fuss with and arguably one of the best figures to get thanks to his cool hat. (Sure he's not doing much on the show but at least you get a decent action figure.) Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Darth Vader (Dark Times, The Retro Collection). White what-if figure offers a cloth cape and a non-telescoping lightsaber, giving us a functionally very different Dark Lord of the Sith toy. Unfortunately the sculpting is the flattest of the wave, with some areas having less sculpted detail than the 1978 original. (But it's still really neat.) Read on!
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Reva (Third Sister, The Vintage Collection). She turned out great! The lightsaber is a little weird, but the articulation is excellent and unlike the Retro figure, she has great eyebrows. Read on!

Hasbro re-issues the Padawan Kenobi from 2009's The Legacy Collection and includes a commlink this time around. This figure could have been vastly improved by an updated head sculpt as the likeness to McGregor falls short. It's not as premium a Vintage Collection figure as we'd like it to be and one of the weaker releases of this assortment. If you're an opener and already have the '09 release, you're good with skipping this.
As we first reported in New York Comic-Con, Hasbro will be releasing 3 non-OT vehicles in Vintage style packaging for the January 30th launch. These include the AT-AP, V-19 Torrent Starfighter, and Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter. The Hasbro site has these listed at $29.99 each.
Sideshow offers a nice glimpse at their upcoming "Desert Nomad" Obi-Wan Kenobi maquette for their 12 Days of Sideshow event. The piece looks absolutely stunning and detailed, further bridging the gap between ROTS McGregor and ANH Guiness.
Sideshow continues to tease us into submission as they preview the awesome, compelling, and soon to be released for pre-order 12" Boba Fett!
Hasbro corrected the first release of SL12 Obi-Wan Kenobi, the AOTC "you don't want to sell me death sticks" version from Saga 2003, to the intended and represented, not to mention much better done, TAC iteration from 2008. How do mix ups like these happen at the factory? We can only guess, but Hasbro may need to go home and rethink their life...err...quality control.
