Star Wars Micro Force - Meet the New Fighter Pods

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 18, 2018

Star Wars Micro Force Series 1Star Wars Micro Force Series 1

One of the fun things about the toy world is seeing an old idea come back in a new form. Hasbro's Fighter Pods lasted for four series between 2011 and 2013 before being given the axe, but not before spanning all six movies and The Clone Wars. There were blind bags there were exclusives, and the whole collection could fit in a shoe box with room to spare. It was also the only line with Ziro the Hutt - I was sad to see it go. But hey, it's back! Micro Force Series 1 brings back 12 molds from those series with deco and tiny sculpt changes, with series 2 coming in a few months with characters from the newer films.

I'm still putting together a set, but out of five packets I got eight different figures. And there are differences from Fighter Pods - check out most of them after the break.

Revenge of S.U.C.K.L.E. - More Star Warsy Mini-Figures on Kickstarter

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, November 9, 2014

The Sucklord (of Suckadelic and bootleg toy fame) is bringing his delightfully odd and ugly collectibles back for another go-round with 10 new figures on Kickstarter.  Series 1 came out last year, series 1.5 is out in various colors now, and series 2 is the one you can support on Kickstarter from the very nice people at DKE Toys. (Hi Dov!)  Click here to see Revenge of S.U.C.K.L.E.

The flesh set is $25 shipped, with other colors and bonuses at various pledge levels.  At least three of these figures should interest readers of sites like this one, with other oddities like a Bionic Carrot and a Creature from the Black Lagoon-adjacent military man seem like solid desk accessories.  A short video is after the break, and you should probably not watch it at the office.  Well, maybe you should, I don't know how laid-back your workplace is.

More SUCKLE: Crystal Pharaoh Coming plus More Kickstarter 3 3/4-Inch Madness

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, June 10, 2014

While somewhere in the realm of homage and parody, the Sucklord has debuted another SUCKLE figure on their Kickstarter updates for an upcoming series.  Check out Crystal Pharaoh, which looks like something from ancient Egypt combined with a mask of some guy from a movie.  He's due in series 2, promised to be on ye olde Kickstarter soon.

S.U.C.K.L.E. Mini-Figures on Kickstarter

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, June 27, 2013

If you've been involved in toy fandom, the hand-made toy field, or have watched cable TV, there's a chance you might be familiar with the "bootlegger" known as the Sucklord or his brand name, Suckadelic.   What he makes are generally art pieces and are wildly not appropriate for the kiddies, but older folks might be interested in his latest product - a Kickstarter-supported, mass-produced, and already at the goal line of mini-figures called S.U.C.K.L.E., or Simply Unimportant Collectable Kitschy Little Eyesores, sculpted by George Gaspar of October Toys fame.
