Toy Fair is a fun time of year, and it looks like we get to open a few of our presents early. A new wave of The Vintage Collection is known to us because a packaged sample of Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Pilot) has been making the rounds. New figures include Lando Calrissian (General), Clone Trooper, AT-RT Driver, Fi-Ek Sirch, and a new Weequay.
The two Battle Over Endor action figure packs are hitting Toys "R" Us as you read this-- each is $24.99, which is a really good value for 4 new figures these days. Of note, my R5-P9 was packaged backward, with his dome spun around 180 degrees. There's nothing wrong with the figure once you open it, but it's possible some (or all) may be sold this way. Also, each package has a different Return of the Jedi-themed backdrop.
Before he had a purple lightsaber, Mace Windu got a couple of figure releases including this little number with a big removable plastic cloak. The figure had pretty decent articulation for his day, and a head sculpt that some prefer to the more recent figures. What do you think? Read on, and leave a comment!
Here's a great one, it's Cato Parasitti! This bounty hunter has some great detail work, plus some lettering which... well, some of it I've translated correctly. The rest? Who knows. It's a great figure, so read on!
The wonderful people at JediNews.co.uk have a picture of the front and back of the Yoda figure from The Vintage Collection Wave 5. Originally slated for Wave 3 on a Return of the Jedi cardback, Hasbro has reworked the package to include a Revenge of the Sith logo and photograph-- and it definitely looks a lot cooler. So far there's only one retail version of the diminutive Utai, a small reptile wrangler from the sinkholes of Utapau. He's cute, ain't he? The figure seemed to come and go quickly, and a prototype head variation never made it out. (But the future could reveal almost anything.) Should you get this one? Read on!
Over at Sandtroopers.com they revealed not one, not two, but three unique boxed sets of three figures each. Of particular note is what appears to bet he first new release of the 2004 Vintage Han Solo figure, which fans have been asking about lately. Well, there it is. Want to see more? Go to Sandtroopers.com!
Generally speaking Darth Vader action figures are black-- except this one, it's white. From the Return of the Jedi: Infinities comic book, this is a repaint of the 2004 Vintage figure. It's pretty good, if you like weird colored action figures. Read on!
Paul at JediTempleArchives has compiled a comprehensive report of which of the original Kenner 100 action figures remain to be updated for the modern Hasbro line. It's a great read with a few caveats but it looks like we're almost there! Click here for the report.
The year's not over yet! If you're still sober and not arguing over ridiculousness on Twitter, read the last Figure of the Day for 2010, the Storm Commando! It's a lot like the Scout Trooper, but there's a new helmet and some other tweaks. Read on!
