Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,989

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 28, 2013

It's Lumat! Last made in 1984, this was, at the time, what I thought to be one of the last figures Kenner did (POTF didn't hit big in my neighborhood.)  Armed with a spear, bow, arrows, and hood, this is a nice figure with a lot of gear.  Did you get yours?  It's time to buy!

Episode II and III 3D: Nevermind! Says Star Wars.com

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 28, 2013
Star Wars.com posted a story indicating episodes II and III in 3D are postponed, which probably (but not definitely) may mean the same can be said for the original trilogy whose release dates were never given.  They say:

Q&A: Post-Droid Factory, Reliving 1985, Statues, Vehicles, and 2013 Non-News

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, January 27, 2013

What's new in Q&A this week? Let's talk New Versions of Luke Skywalker because why not. And how about the Vintage Figure Remake List, or at least my take on it as of this week? Sure, why not? Let's also talk Statues and mention that credit card thing I didn't read about until yesterday, because that's the kind of citizen I am. Read on!

J.J. Abrams To Direct Episode VII

By Mike — Saturday, January 26, 2013

All lens flare diatribes aside, J.J. Abrams seems like the best choice to helm and direct the sequel trilogy. If you think about it, the Star Trek reboot in terms of tone, dialogue, pace, and atmosphere, was closer to a classic Star Wars film. You can easily see the same dynamic between Kirk, Spock, and Uhura as you would with Luke, Han, and Leia

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,988

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, January 25, 2013

While I keep hitting "refresh" waiting for the Todd Glass Show to update, why don't you read about the 2012 Vintage Collection Weequay figure?  The 1983 original was good, the 1997 remake was magnificent, so the 2012 version must be perfection right?

J.J. Abrams Set to Direct Next Star Wars - Confirmed?

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 24, 2013

UPDATE: Yup, it's official.

A few articles from around the web (The Wrap, Total Film, Deadline Hollywood) are indicating that J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Super 8) is set to direct the next Star Wars film.  It's worth noting he denied involvement previously, but hey, Michael Dorn once said Worf probably wouldn't be coming to Deep Space 9 so remember: everyone in Hollywood is a filthy liar.  Or this is just one more stupid rumor we're all going to be denying in the morning.

At this time Disney, Lucasfilm, Mr. Lucas, Mr. Abrams, Mr. Solo, and Mr. Peanut have failed to provide an official denial or confirmation.   You can probably expect one of the two by lunchtime on Friday.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,987

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, January 24, 2013

It's Mace Windu! This is the first animated version of the Jedi warrior, complete with purple lightsaber and display stand.  It's basically a statue, but it's a cheap statue.  This makes it good.  Did you get one?  Why not?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,986

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, January 23, 2013

It's R2-D2, but not!  The Blue R2-Series Astromech Droid can be a bunch of unique robots, including R2-D2.  Or something else.  I'd suggest going with something else, even if the dome is exquisitely painted with a little red light that looks superior to the Walmart exclusive Astromech pack from last year.

Jedi News U.K. Toy Fair Report

By Mike — Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Jedi News reports from U.K. Toy Fair with photos from the Hasbro Booth and other licensors. The big news from the show is the Rise of Darth Vader set from Hasbro, which won a best action figure award. The line look also gets a refresh to go with the Episodes II and III 3D releases in the fall.

Galactic Hunter Video Theater Presents: The Clone Wars - Eminence

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 22, 2013

This week on The Clone Wars: Darth Maul is actually compelling to watch in "Eminence." If you like your episodes peppered with fan service (minus the cheesecake), this is it. 22-minutes of pure love to fans of the show (and the franchise), this episode brings us back to Darth Maul and Savage Opress with a healthy dose of organized crime and Mandalorians. Also, Hutts, and Gamorrean arm wrestling. Want to know more? Damn right you do! More after the break.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,985

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Check out this Galactic Marine repaint!  It's slightly different than the carded version from 2008, as this one came in a Battle Pack few fans saw in the wild and seemingly fewer care to purchase online these days.  Is it worth the hassle?
