Figure of the Day

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,693: Han Solo (Hoth, The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Possibly new at Walmart near you, the Han Solo (Hoth, The Retro Collection)  is the Kenner-style figure you had or always wanted to put in your Tauntaun!   The remake is smoother than the original, but it's still pretty good with decent construction.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,692: Boba Fett (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, May 24, 2020

It was a rough week so I forgot to post that Figure of the Day: Day 2,692: Boba Fett (The Retro Collection) went up!  It's pretty great - the sculpt has a lot of minor differences from previous releases and hte colors are different too.  If you're an old-school variation hunter, this is a must-buy.  If you have ten bucks and want a figure that you can pretend is a real, old Boba Fett, you should get one too.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,691: RA-7 Protocol Droid (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Last year's Disney parks release RA-7 Protocol Droid (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look) can be yours - if you find it for sale online somewhere.   The set is pretty good, but oddly this particular droid looks frosty when it's blue.   The black coloring looks great.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,690: R2 Astromech (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 14, 2020

Normally available at theme parks - but not so much right now - the R2 Astromech (Color-Changing Droids, Droid Factory Line Look) changes from red when he's cold to white when he's warm!  Otherwise, it's basically the same as the build-a-figure R2-D2 molds you've seen over the last five years.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,689: The Child (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Inspired by The Mandalorian, The Child (The Black Series 6-Inch) is small.  How small? So small he's the right size!  The difference in size between a 3 3/4-inch scale and a 6-inch scale character this tiny is minimal, and you can see a comparison on this review with the 2017 Porg figures.  As of now there are no known plans for a a 3 3/4-inch Baby Yoda.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,688: Rey (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 7, 2020

I was pleasantly surprised by this Rey (The Vintage Collection).  She has great articulation, new accessories, an excellent llikeness, and is sadly long gone from shelves.   If you can find one, you should get one.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,687: Zorii Bliss (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 5, 2020

We hope you didn't miss Zorii Bliss (The Vintage Collection)!  If you loved the new movie or just need background figures, this is a good one.  There's a lot of gold here, plus one of the most ornate helmets in the line.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,686: Purge Stormtrooper (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 30, 2020

Fresh from GameStop - a few months ago - is the tough-to-find Purge Stormtrooper (The Black Series 6-Inch).  It's good.  Can you find it?  Probably not, especially with stores closed - I saw one, once, in a damaged box and then bought it.   Hopefully you can find one soon too!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,685: Clone Trooper (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 28, 2020

Shipping in that wave of The Mandalorian figures, this Clone Trooper (The Vintage Collection) is the one you probably see left on pegs when you go out for toilet paper and ramen.   It's really close to the figure from 10 years ago, but if you open it and pop off the helmet you'll see a new face painted underneath.  It's a great troop builder, but do you need it anyway?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,684: Sith Jet Trooper (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 23, 2020

It's red! And new!  You can a Sith Jet Trooper (The Black Series 6-Inch)  if you luck into one during your provision quests or online shopping.  It's pretty shiny and there's conflicting reference to the helmet grooves... so maybe it's accurate!  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,683: Knight of Ren (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 21, 2020

He's part of a group, but so far, he's the only one in this size! The Knight of Ren (The Black Series 6-Inch) is starting to show up now, but you can also order yours online.   He has some great articulation with some excellent motion hidden in the shoulders behind a rubbery shirt, with some of the best articulation Hasbro has done with Star Wars in this scale.  He can even mimic the designs in the publicity photos.  Also, supposedly his name is "Vicrul" but that isn't on the box.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,682: Cara Dune (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 16, 2020

Hasbro has been really upping its game with the new 3 3/4-inch figures it puts out - reissues get better paint and brand new characters are often the very best we've ever seen.  Cara Dune (The Vintage Collection) is up there with amazing accessories, a fantastic likeness, and top tier articulation.  It's the kind of thing that makes you wish they'd give you a full line from The Mandalorian which, it is worth reminding people, is not planned.  But you can get this one!  Read on.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,681: Remnant Stormtrooper (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 14, 2020

It's dirty and hopefully Hasbro makes a lot more of the Remnant Stormtrooper (The Vintage Collection)!  Using the newer figure sculpt, the worn-out deco and flecks of damage just look marvelous.  Get some. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,680: The Mandalorian (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 9, 2020

Awesome and also a cruel tease, the The Mandalorian (The Vintage Collection)  is one of Hasbro's best 3 3/4-inch figures this year.  Sadly, it's not part of a much larger line with vehicles or playsets - but in and of itself, it's a must-buy.  Go get one.  Go for it.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,679: Zorii Bliss (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 7, 2020

A figure that you'll probably regret skipping in a couple of years is the Zorii Bliss (The Black Series 6-Inch) figure!
