It's Widdle Warrick! This is a pretty decent mashup of his appearances in the Star Wars saga, with his orange fur and white cheeks. Technically it's his first figure, but another, similar figure was sold under a different name in 2007. Since this figure is just now really starting to hit Kmart stores, should you track him down this week?
In the second official blog post about his forthcoming Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection, Steve Sansweet gives retrospect on deadlines and overcoming the methodology of embedded data in today's book publishing. With help from assistant Anne Neumann and a couple of well respected guys from the online collecting community, Steve was able to meet tight deadlines and regain some Zen.

PAWTUCKET, R.I.— October 8, 2012 - Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) has announced today it has entered into agreement with LucasFilm to manufacture and globally market a variety of products based on the newly launched STAR WARS edition of the wildly popular ANGRY BIRDS mobile game from Rovio Entertainment. The new ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS line from Hasbro will launch in the beginning of November 2012.
The following press release was sent out this morning about the new Star Wars Angry Birds game and merchandise to be globally released on November 8th.
So, what's next for the Disney Droid Factory? Want to see some pieces that haven't been released yet? (Would you believe that you already have seen them?) What's going on with kids vs. collectors this week... do we still matter? All this and much more, including some ramblings about our new GHVT column, await you today!
The exclusive AT-ST Crew and Ewok Scout Action Figure Sets are now available online for $14.99 each. Both are temporarily out of stock at the moment but keep checking back for restock since online is the only alternative for collectors in several geographic areas.
This week in Galactic Hunter Video Theater, it's more fun we found from YouTube! I have no idea why it's up there, but the now woefully out-of-print Clone Wars 2003 Microseries is something you really ought to see. Seriously, this is must-watch stuff here. From Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack), the series spanned three very brief seasons over the course of about two hours. The first 20 episodes were about three minutes each... which was negotiated up from George Lucas' initial pitch of one minute per episode.
It doesn't look like you have to wait until Monday and Times Square to see what the marriage of Star Wars and Angry Birds looks like. The website Idle Hands has posted some photos of what Hasbro has in store including a Jenga game and an AT-AT Attack Battle Game. For Star Wars collectors, the item which will probably strike the most interest is the Angry Birds "Early Bird" package that's clearly inspired by the iconic Kenner release from the 70's which launched the most prolific movie toy line in history.
It's October and that means that the Holidays are only right around the corner. Hallmark stores have received two new Keepsake ornaments featuring a cool "Santa" Darth Vader Peekbuster and a LEGO Stormtrooper.
Now that we're in the far-flung future of Star Wars collectibles, we're getting some nice stuff from some licensees who aren't Hasbro or Gentle Giant. A nifty mid-range collectible, the Commander Cody Bank showed up at our offices recently and by gum, it's neat. It's also significantly cheaper than larger and more fragile releases than other companies. (It also gives us a chance to talk about someone from the Clone Wars, and banks, without having to cringe at that one Clone Wars episode about bank deregulation.)
Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex encounter potential allies in this exclusive preview of the latest episode of The Clone Wars, "A War on Two Fronts."
There were about 25 unique domes released at Star Tours for the Droid Factory setup, and the Black and White R8-Series Astromech Droid is one of my favorites. It has no big eye to speak of, but its head has a built in nacho dip bowl.
Les Jouets (The Toys) Star Wars Exposition is now underway at the Musee Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris, France featuring 450 select Kenner and Hasbro pieces from the collection of Arnaud Grunberg.
