Q&A: Lando, Shuttles, Zabraks, and Expanded Universe Revisited

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, March 20, 2011

Today we look at vintage cardback logos, continue with your obvious disdain toward the lack of vehicles shown at Toy Fair, and we look at new villain figures... that we aren't getting yet. Oh, and we look at the amazing changes to Teebo's hat and how things don't seem to necessarily line up between the movie, the toys, and the photography from Lucasfilm. What an exciting mix! Read on for more and send in your questions for next week's mailbag!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,503

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, March 18, 2011

While the character has had a rich history in comic books, Quinlan Vos has only appeared in one episode of The Clone Wars, and Hasbro thought that was enough to crank out a figure.  (I'm happy for this.) The figure has a lightsaber, and a speederboard for some reason.  Should you grab him?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,502

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, March 17, 2011

Hasbro has made thousands of 3 3/4-inch scale action figures, but few are as large as Kul Teska.  He looks more like an average big Spider-Man figure, towering over even Darth Vader!  He doesn't have a lot of gear, but he's huge and cool... and isn't that worth something?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,501

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, March 16, 2011

The just-released and as far as I can tell, barely in stores Aqua Droid is an odd duck.  It's an amazing piece of toy engineering, but it can't stand up-- not even with its stand-- for more than a few hours. Gravity, thou art a heartless... nevermind.  Anyway, should you get it?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,500

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Wow, it's Figure of the Day #1500!  What a milestone!  To celebrate, we're going to look at a fun figure from 2010-- Pre Vizsla, the Mandalorian with the most gear. His helmet comes off, his articulation is exceptional, and really, you should buy him.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,499

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, March 14, 2011

Since 2005, fans were wanting a new version of Commander Bacara, preferably with more articulation and less action-gimmickry.  This one pulls through nicely, and was sold on individual cards in 2009.  Did you get one when you had the chance, and should you track him down?  Read on!

Q&A: Vehicles, Conspiracies Around Vehicles, and Other Stuff

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, March 13, 2011

So when is Hasbro going to give us that Vintage Yak Face we all so obviously need? And should we keep pre-mourning vehicles? Sure, why not. And why is Yoda's lightsaber painted all funky these days? All this and more await you in this week's Q&A, send in questions as we're reaching the end of the mailbag!

New Kubrick Figures Inspired by Vintage Kenner Star Wars

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, March 9, 2011

If you've been collecting figures from Japan, the new batch of Star Wars Kubrick DX Wave 3 should be of interest.  Not only is there a build-a-vehicle of a Landspeeder, but the bulk of the figures' aesthetics are heavily influenced by 1970s Kenner action figures.  I stumbled on these pictures at NCS today.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,496

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, March 9, 2011

For years fans observed there weren't enough Rebel pilots, and by the time we got to John D. Branon it was pretty obvious that we now have too many.  With more pilots than vehicles, is there a reason to pick up this exclusive from 2009?  Read on!
