CVI: Ultimate Action Figure Book Panel

By Mike — Friday, August 24, 2012

Publishing a book of all the 3 3/4 inch Star Wars action figures ever produced by Kenner/Hasbro is quite the daunting task. Adam has been writing his Figure Of The Day feature for the past 5 or 6 years and has yet to hit 2,000. Steve Sansweet's Action Figure Archive has always been the seminal book in prose, style, and format and we've been waiting for an update for 13 years since the Power of the Force 2 collection from the Nineties.

It’s literally only a few days to Star Wars Celebration VI and everybody is either on their way or already enjoying the Florida sun (and occasional rain). This month, we catch up with Jayson Krebsbach from Yakface.com to talk about their sold out party with Star Wars Action News on Thursday night, we also check in again with Frank Diorio about the latest updates regarding the Diorama Workshop.

We also catch up with show regular Steve Sansweet who finally reveals the details of what he’s going to be doing at Star Wars Celebration VI at the recently announced Rancho Obi-Wan Experience.

Droid Factory Update

It's called a good problem for Disney but less than ideal for vacationing collectors. Dan Curto is at Disney Star Wars Weekends and reported some changes with the Droid Factory packaging and availability of parts.

Special Report: Disney Droid Factory Build-A-Droid

By Dan Curto — Monday, May 21, 2012

Hasbro's Star Wars action figure line has a long history of including "bonus" pack-ins with each figure: Freeze Frames, 3-D dioramas, Commtech Chips, Force Files, display stands, mini-hologram figures, collector coins, weapons lockers, and most recently...battle cards and battle dice.

Dan Curto Leaving Rebelscum

By Mike — Friday, March 9, 2012

The end of an era is upon us as a collecting community. Dan Curto has announced on his Facebook page today that he is no longer with Rebelscum. Dan's passion, tireless energy, and love for the hobby has created the most prolific Star Wars photo archive on the net and played a huge part in making Rebelscum what is today. While he will certainly be missed, his talent and drive won't be easy to contain and we look forward to his next project. Thanks for all your hard work, efforts and contributions Dan! Collecting News will not be the same without you (at least temporarily, we imagine.). May The Force Be With You, Always.
