The Force will be strong in the historic Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco where Super7, Rancho Obi-Wan, the 501st Legion, and a host of others will be putting on a Star Wars Day extravaganza filled with exhibition of rare merchandise, exclusives, and giveaways.

The event takes place between 11 am to 7 am this Saturday, May 4th at the Super7 store located at 1427 Haight Street, San Francisco.

The Rancho Obi-Wan 2013 membership kits are finally ready!  Kits include a thank you letter, a personalized membership card signed on the back by Steve and this year's patch, which features art exclusively done for Rancho Obi-Wan by French artist Benjamin Carré. 

Rancho Obi-Wan is in the process of developing their 2013 Membership kits, but it will include a new 2013 Membership patch, a welcome letter from Steve Sansweet, as well as a special Thank You gift for renewing members. 

The Rancho Obi-Wan Experience, a specially-selected group of Star Wars memorabilia from the world's largest private collection, will be part of the activities at Star Wars Celebration Europe in Essen, Germany July 26th to 28th.

For Star Wars fans and collectors, having a passionate advocate and steward like a Steve Sansweet, who also just happens to be the custodian of the largest Star Wars collection in the galaxy, is like catching lightning in a bottle. Not only does he have a collection you can never even dream of owning (let alone housing), but he can write, and write pretty well, of all the relevant events and collectibles from both a fan and collector standpoint because he bore witness to and collected most of them. An auction of one of the most complete collections of loose Star Wars action figures will be launched on eBay Nov. 29 for the benefit of Rancho Obi-Wan. The auction is in conjunction with the one year anniversary of ROW and the release of the new book, Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection.

It was a damp, dreary November evening but The Force was strong inside a repurposed Chicken Ranch that housed the greatest Star Wars collection in the world. Publishing a book of all the 3 3/4 inch Star Wars action figures ever produced by Kenner/Hasbro is quite the daunting task. Adam has been writing his Figure Of The Day feature for the past 5 or 6 years and has yet to hit 2,000. Steve Sansweet's Action Figure Archive has always been the seminal book in prose, style, and format and we've been waiting for an update for 13 years since the Power of the Force 2 collection from the Nineties.

The Rancho Obi-Wan Experience at Celebration VI will be selling memberships that will include a Celebration exclusive Yoda patch designed by Jerry Vanderstelt. It is the perfect companion patch for the Obi-Wan Kenobi patch that members have already received with their membership kit.

It's not the update to his singular Star Wars Action Figure Archive that we've been waiting for, but Steve Sansweet will be releasing Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection: 35 Years Of Characters this October. I'm an unabashed fan of Steve, his knowledge, and his prose, so this one I can't wait for.
