Skunk ape?  Balding ape?  Varmik?  It's the Hassk Thug, a McQuarrie-inspired triplet which is one of very few denizens of the castle on Takodana to get a figure.   It's one of those things fans need to start demanding, like a Lin-Manuel Miranda for some reason or another.  Anyway, how is he?  I'd say get one, but read on to see what I wrote in the review.

We're back - but not every day!   I gotta sleep once in a while.  Let's look at the nifty Kylo Ren Unmasked, released earlier this year and unlikely to be at a store near you.  He was popular.   He's also more than an old body with a new head - Hasbro did the work on this one.

One of the many criminals we didn't get to spend as much time as we might have liked, Tasu Leech brings us a new character in a nifty costume with a big blaster.   He's shorter than the average 3 3/4-inch figure, but he doesn't look half bad otherwise.  Read on!

Hey kids, it's Nien Nunb!  He's a lot like the 1983 Kenner figure, despite being from the 2015 movie.  He also has a backpack you can ignore.   Read on!

And now, First Mate Quiggold!  He's the first mate on Sidon Ithano's ship, and one of Hasbro's most detailed 3 3/4-inch action figures for The Force Awakens.  And he has a giant rocket launcher that will no doubt go in to the collector's junk drawer.  Read on!

Also known as the Crimson Corsair, Sidon Ithano is part of a swell new 2-pack.  He's got 5 joints, a gun, and his pal Quiggold.  And a cape - I almost forgot the cape!  It's quite a cape.  Check it out, read on!

While I've got more of these bigger guys coming in the mail, this Luke Skywalker completes the current round of 6-inch "value" figures which may be at a store that you don't frequent near you right now.  Luke doesn't have hip joints, but he is pretty big for the price.   Want to see more?  Read on!

Another 6-inch budget figure!  Darth Vader is pretty much required to exist in any figure format, so the enlarged toy with reduced articulation would be a given.  He's not taller than Han or his casemates, but he is a lot more fun to play with than a cake topper.  Unlike the others, his lightsaber is completely removable from his hand - but should you go on a toy run to try to find this one?   Read on!

Continuing the value range of 6-inch Hasbro figures at Family Dollar, let's look at Han Solo.   His blaster is molded to his hand, and the texture on his pants is pretty intense.   The head deco is similar to the vintage Kenner figures of old, and he looks a lot like Hasbro's other recent offerings of Harrison Ford from the original movie.  Read on!

And here we go again!  This Kanan Jarrus is a 6-inch action figure with 4 points of articulation that you can't really easily find online.   I'm only finding them at Family Dollar stores - it's a "value" item.   Should you get one?  Is a $6.75 6-inch figure worth your while?  Read on!

Hey, it's Constable Zuvio!  He has a magnificent paint job on his armor, and we know absolutely nothing about him in the movie yet.  Well.  With that, I'm taking a FOTD break because I actually would like to see the movie before commenting any more on these - so read on, for what it's worth.

Arguably the figure of the season, the 6-inch Captain Phasma is the one your pals want and can't find - I haven't seen her in stores personally yet, but her wave mates?  You'll see those.  She's pretty much exactly as good as you might expect from this line, so read on!

Check out the Sandtrooper Sergeant!  It's one of the exclusive figures in Entertainment Earth's Imperial Forces 6-inch action figure set.   This one has a different dirt pattern and a white pauldron - what more do you need?  Well, it's also got the blasters from the other releases - be sure to get this one!  Read on!

He's back, and slightly bigger than ever (from Hasbro)!  R2-Q5 has opening panels with painted arms and a swell finish - but none of the scopes that came with R2-D2 two years ago.   Is it cool?  Well, I think so, but I'm biased.  It's in stock for ordering right now, and you can read on to see if you should care!

Elite!  The red-striped First Order TIE Fighter Pilot is the only 6-inch TIE Pilot from the new movie you can own today - but the non-striped version is up for pre-order at fine toy stores everywhere.  This one, however, comes with a TIE Fighter with wings so tall they can black out the sun.  Read on!
