File under Not Star Wars: Funko and Super  7 are teaming up to take on everything you loved about growing up in the 1980s in toy form.  We're reading lots of reports of Kenner-style 1970s/1980s action figures being produced for Aliens, Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firelfly, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Predator, Goonies, Back to the Future, Dark Crystal, and more are on deck for production in the not-too-distant-future. This year at Comic-Con 2012 Super 7 had a bunch of surprises, two of which were 3 3/4-inch 1979-style Kenner Alien action figures, and the other was a stunning all-new wax pack of trading cards (pictured) with promo cards on olde tyme cardboard.  And guess what? They're doing more at Celebration VI!

Southern California received an early dose of pop culture and ample amounts of rain as WonderCon 2012 was moved to the massive Anaheim Convention Center this year with their traditional venue at the Moscone Center in San Francisco under construction for upgrades. While it is organized by the same group that does Comic-Con International in San Diego, it was much smaller in scope and foot traffic, partially due to the foul weather. Despite this, there were still enough cosplayers, panels, and exhibitors to go around.
