Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,078: R3-T6 (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, November 2, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R3-T6 (Custom). It's not a licensed product and it was quite expensive for what it is, but it's the kind of thing I've always been surprised Kenner - and especially Hasbro - never pursued with the old R2-D2 mold. Secondary market prices on the droids from Stan Solo are getting expensive, and it makes sense - they look cool and are functionally pretty nice. I'd recommend it if you're no longer buying as much licensed stuff. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,074: Oola (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 19, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Oola (Custom). This is a figure Jabba wanted but Kenner was unwilling to make. A fan made one last year, and then a few more, and it's pretty close to what you might expect out of Kenner from 1983. The color is a little wrong, the headdress is a tiny bit off, and the sandals may not quite match - but the same was true of a few figures back then.

She fits in perfectly with your older Return of the Jedi figures, and sadly is priced more or less accordingly. I like it - I wouldn't buy it if Hasbro charged $40. But Hasbro won't make one, so it's this or nothing. Is it worth it? Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,070: Garindan (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 5, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Garindan (Custom). This is another fan-made, mass-produced figure but this time you can tell from where the parts originated - there are pieces of the 1997 Kenner The Power of the Force Garindan mixed in with a vinyl cape, a black Cloud Car Pilot comm, and other new and old elements. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 3,066: Princess Leia Organa (Slave Outfit, Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 21, 2023

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Princess Leia Organa (Slave Outfit, Custom). It is an actual, real, Kenner-style figure made from an unlicensed source - and since an official release of such a character in this specific costume is unlikely, it's worth a look. It's a lot better than nothing - in fact, it's pretty excellent (albeit very expensive.) Read on!

Stan Solo's Glowing Force Ghosts In Stock in the USA

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, February 3, 2023

Fan production house Stan Solo Creation's Etsy Shop put up a lot of new stuff recently, including the Stan Solo Glow in the Dark Force Ghosts set.

I picked up a few Stan Solo figures and the quality is generally really good. The sculpting cuts are deep and the accessories look like the real deal, but are just off enough to tell they're reproductions.

Fan-Made Kenner-Style Ubrikkian 9000 Speeder Available from Stan Solo Creations

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, December 21, 2022

You don't need it... but maybe you do. The long-gestating Kenner-style Stan Solo custom Ubrikkian 9000 Speeder is up on Etsy for US customers. It's $122, a lot of money for what is effectively a fancy Mini-Rig-style vehicle. However, there are no official ones known to be coming, so this is your current option.

For UK customers (and those wanting to see pictures of the detailed interior), check out Stan Solo Creations' web site. If you're searching for the now, if you're looking for the real thing yeah, this is not a licensed toy vehicle. But Hasbro hasn't really bothered to do vehicles in 2022, so you may have a few bucks in your vehicle budget.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,963: Death Star Droid (Black, Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 27, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Death Star Droid (Black, Custom). I was sent a fan-made custom of this figure over 25 years ago, but this made-from-new-molds "custom" is brand-new and has a shiny black finish. The detail is a little soft, but it still looks good standing in a playset or on a shelf. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,960: Han Solo in Stormtrooper Disguise (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 15, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Han Solo in Stormtrooper Disguise (Custom). It's a neat take on what could have been (or should have been) in the 1980s! The figure's helmet is painted a little off, the head looks pretty of-the-era, and the blaster is held at a weird angle - but it's a lot better than nothing. and is pretty good shelf eye candy. Revenge of Six Second Toy Talk - Installment #37, Stan Solo Creations Amaulman

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,959: Amaulman (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Amaulman (Custom). It's mass-produced in China, but we're calling it a custom - this was made using new molds that also put out some Amanaman let's-say-replicas. The figure feels incredibly close to the original yellow and green figure, but the texture and detail on the staff are visibly changed if you have the real deal for comparisons. Otherwise, you'd probably be fooled into thinking it's the real deal - thankfully the Sith-colored figure makes it plainly obvious that this is not the genuine article. It's cool, but do you need it? Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,958: B0-B4 (Custom)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 8, 2022

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Day 2,958: B0-B4 (Custom/Fan-Made). It's a mass-produced custom, using new molds to make an old-style figure - and it's not licensed. So why are we looking at it? It's neat. Read on!
