Walgreens Star Wars 6-Inch Prototype Armor Boba Fett In Stores Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, September 6, 2014

The Walgreens Boba Fett (Prototype Armor) 6-inch action figure is out now - most stores are getting partial cases and you won't see a variety at all locations.  In the past 72 hours I hit up about 16 locations and generally saw no more than 1-3 Star Wars figures of any kind at each location - for example, one store had 3 Boba Fetts in Glendale, AZ and nothing else.  Another had 2 Darth Vaders and nothing else.  And another had a single Sandtrooper, and that was it.  Only 3 of the stores had any 6-inch Star Wars figures yet, but this is a new-to-them line.

2725 I ordered one on Walgreens.com in July. Since then my credit card was replaced by the provider due to a breach, meaning I had a new expiration date. I contacted Walgreens to update this information and was told it was not possible - I could only cancel my order, or leave it as is. No changes would be made.

For this reason, I went on a toy run of unpleasant proportions. Parades of sick people, point-of-sale displays that sneeze, terrible music, and other reminders that "this is a store for sick people" made the collecting experience less than the usual delight that it is at Target, Toys R Us, Kmart, Walmart, or of course online shops with a better pre-order system - where I imagine all employees are attractive and pleasant.  (What I don't know won't hurt me.)  (And as I do work at an online store at my day job, I can assure you there are some very attractive and pleasant folks there.  Especially me.)

Joining this figure is a Walgreens exclusive Marvel Legends Agent Venom and a Tyrion Lannister from Funko's Legacy line.  I saw many stores with full endcaps - 8 or more figures - of Agent Venom, so if you can't find Boba Fett immediately DON'T PANIC.  Also do prepare to hit up many locations - I never put any thought into mapping out Walgreens stores, but you should do so and attack them with a real tenacity if you want to get one this weekend.  Otherwise, if Venom and Lannister are any indication, they'll be warming pegs inside 60 days.  Good hunting - video and other reviews should be going up shortly!
