The Mandalorian and Grogu: Screen Drop

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, June 13, 2026

For those who insist on still not buying a ticket, The Mandalorian and Grogu is still in theaters - but not as many, and not the biggest screens. According to Box Office Mojo the film started at 4,300 screens, dropped to 3,355 last week, and dipped again to 2,680 on Friday. It reportedly brought in an estimated $1.3 million on Friday - not nothing - but it's starting to face a lot more competition and is likely to have passed $300 million globally by Monday.

That's no small amount of money for a giant-size streaming episode, putting it at the 7th-highest domestic movie of the year. Project Hail Mary, the latest from Steven Spielberg, is shaping up to be #1 for the weekend and next weekend it will likely be crushed by Toy Story 5 - which is getting a lot of retail product displays while Star Wars is seeing yet more markdowns. Good hunting to us all.
