Healey Made Shadow Raider v. 2 Available Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, May 27, 2023

RaiderVia the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Menu: May 27, 2023. Several years ago, the first painted Healey Made Glyos figure was the Raider (Shadow) - this new one changes up a few paint hits, and adds a cloth cape to the mix. It's basically just different enough to make you mad, but I bought one anyway. Click here to see if it's still able to be ordered. At press time it's still available for $25 and is a nice fit with your original Kenner figures, even if it's not really a Star Wars guy.

16bit.com Review: Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, May 6, 2023

Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action FigureIt sold out, but I still reviewed it at 16bit.com Figure of the Day. It's a 3 3/4-inch sci-fi figure in the style of classic Kenner figures.

It blue! The Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action Figure is unsurprisingly, a lot of fun to play with and seems like it would have been something Kenner made after it ran out of Ewoks and Droids. Because it's Glyos, you can mix and match with the other Healey figures - and he's a good match with the Raider or other Trooper. He sold out, but if you have the chance to buy one in this or another color you should.

May the 4th Be With Indie Toys from Healey Made

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, May 3, 2023

Update: false alarm, just vinyl and resin - no 3 3/4-inch action figures.

It's almost May the 4th! While I am sick of the goofy pun that went from a horrible joke to a marketing holiday, I'm excited that new Retro Kenner reissues, Black Series, and Vintage figures are going up. But I'm also excited to see one of my favorite adjacent toymakers, Healey Made, is doing some restocks/new stuff. He does vinyl and PVC indie releases that are all pretty awesome, like the pictured Trooper (Shadow) action figure. It's worth checking out.

Click here to check his shop or click here to see all the Healey Made posts I made over at the Glyos News Dump.

He also does some swell resin wrestling figures based on famous alien action figures.  You'd like them.

Healey Made Reveals Another Assassin, In Stock Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, March 11, 2023

Death by FetteningVia the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Bulloch Assassin and Raider Returns. The Raider (Assassin) was also restocked, and they match! They also match the Trooper (Bulloch) from a few months ago, so with any luck, this is the last of the Bulloch colorways for a while.

This is a 3 3/4-inch scale action figure sculpted by a former Kenner employee.  The head and limbs are removable via Glyos pegs, which I assume you know about, but you should go look them up if you don't.  The figure has an alternate helmeted head and a blaster, and actually fits in pretty well with your old Kenner guys and ReAction Figures.  The figures are $25 each and come packaged in a clear plastic bag.

And if that weren't enough, you can click here to see a bunch more Healey Made news and info at the Glyos News Dump.

The Mandalorian Themed Outwatcher Drops Thursday at 9:00 PM EST

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, March 8, 2023

OutwatcherI also posted this on that Glyos blog I keep: Cappy Space Won't Quit, Outwatcher on Thursday. This is a figure that's just short of 3-inches tall and comes with a removable helmet and alternate heads. If it looks familiar, the molding was previously sold in other colors at the 481 Universe / Ni Stuff shop. Which I'll forgive you for not knowing, it's an indie line you probably missed.

Cappy Space takes some of those old molds and gives them new life. You can see previews of other figures on his Instagram. Highlights for the Thursday launch include the Winnie the Pooh-inspired Hunny Crayboth, a cool Headliner Goliath, and a swell 3 3/4-inch scale figure you should see - the Guardian Diver. These came from Onell Design, Mystical Warrior of the Rings, and Knights of the Slice molds, respectively.

Healey Made Has a New Assassin Dropping Saturday

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, March 8, 2023

Guardian DiverVia the Glyos News Dump: New Healey Made Assassin March 11 at 2:00 PM EST. Details are unknown, but the previous Assassins were all pretty good and some were painted to look like Bossk and Pythona, if those names mean much to you.

I've reviewed a few of these before at 16bit.com. Click here to see the R-Complex Assassin, which is a green-skinned alien. Trando Assassin comes in Bossk colors. And of course the Assassin (GID) glows in the dark.

Hasbro to End Retro Kenner Marvel Legends 375 Line (For Now)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, March 6, 2023

While not Star Wars, this one probably crosses over with those of you who are 40 or older, and love Kenner-style figures.  Hasbro's Steve Evans posted on Instagram that their nifty Marvel Legends Retro 375 line is "resting."  A lot of lines have years-long hiatuses - Zoids disappeared for almost 20 years (and barely reappeared), Indiana Jones took a nap for over a decade, so all is not without hope.

As there are no plans to release any more, you can probably afford to go back and buy the entire line somewhat cheaply Various lots and collections on eBay have been ranging from an average of $4-$10 per figure in some cases (this is how I got a lot of mine), so I'd recommend checking them out if you're into this sort of thing.  The packaging has a thicker cardstock and better overal art than the Star Wars line, and while the figures share a ton of parts they're still pretty excellent.

I've been posting weekly reviews of them over at 16bit.com because I thought they were neat.  This week is Wolverine!

The Instagram Post in question is embedded after the break.

New Healey Made Raider (Bulloch) On Sale Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, February 4, 2023

If you like indie toys - and dagnabbit, I'm trying to make you like them - you'll want to see the new Healey Made Raider (Bulloch) action figure. Made with Kennery goodness in mind, this not-quite-Tarkin/Boba Fett/Cobra Commander figure is $25.00 and will probably be sold out at some point in the middle of the week. (It's also painted to match the Trooper (Bulloch) figure we reviewed recently.) Click here to check availability.

For those keeping track, this is the whopping 36th colorway of this figure since its debut in 2019.

New Healey Made Raider Saturday

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, February 2, 2023

RaidVia the Glyos News Dump: New Healey Made Raider Saturday, February 4.  The Raiders are pretty fantastic figures and have come in dozens of colorways so far. They're not cheap, but they're about as close as you can get to a new old Kenner-style action figure... and I include Hasbro's own Kenner-style figures in the mix. These are generally, in terms of sculpt, closer to the original (old) article.

I really like these guys. Click here for a review of the Shadow Raider and click here for a look at the Revenge Raider.

Revenge Raider - New Glyos Figure Booking Orders Now

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, December 18, 2021

It's new! Modeled after the newer revised armor of Boba Fett, this Healey Made Raider (Revenge) is available now for $25, until it sells out. The same mold has been issued before, but it looks like it has a new cloth element. It also costs about the same as Hasbro's new Boba Fett figure in The Vintage Collection, so take a look and click here to check availability.

Onell Design Presents the Glyorian - New Glyos Figures

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, December 8, 2020

3877 If you haven't already seen the update to the Onell Design Store, check it out.  Figures based on The Child sold out, but plenty of armored figures, Ackbar-ish figures, and parts and pieces are still available.  These indie action figures can be taken apart and reassembled at every point of articulation, allowing for a lot of customization possibilities.   They're worth a look, provided there's still anything in stock.

Fan Figure Alert - Cappy Space Legion Lead

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 10, 2020

3874 If you like Glyos or indie toys, Cappy Space has a couple of gems coming up later on Thursday.  At 9:00 PM Eastern, the Cappy Space Bazaar will add Legion Crayboth and Legion Leader Crayboth - which are his next nods to a galaxy far, far away.  The black and white paint could mean they're anybody, but the blue stripes on the sides of the heads are unmistakable.

New Indie Action Figure Shadow Raider - Like Boba Fett, but Not

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 29, 2019

I3736 f you like 3 3/4-inch action figures, the indie world has been a great place to dwell.  Healey Made's Raider is now available in clear green and black, the latter of which has since sold out.  They're $20 and $25, respectively.  Legend has it an old Kenner sculptor worked on these, so you may want to keep your ears to the ground for announcements of future painted figure releases.  An unpainted blue prototype seems to be long gone - I didn't even see it get listed!

If you need custom figure fodder or are looking to scratch an itch, I recommend these.  They're nice toys.

Cappy Space Does Droids - Glyos Figures at D-Con

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, November 23, 2019

3733 If you are going to D-Con, Anaheim's Designer Con, this weekend be sure to stop by booth #3028 to see Cappy Space.  You can pick up CPs&Qs AV Robot or R-Toolio there, or order it on this web site right here.  These are Glyos-compatible figures and mix with The Outer Space Men as well as those 3 3/4-inch My Hero Academia figures you see at the GameStop.  They look pretty sharp.

CPs&Qs AV Robot is a gold recolor of the Nemo's Factory AV Robot, while R-Toolio is a clever redeco of the Onell Design Hub set.

NOW: Onell Design Glyos Searsden Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, April 28, 2019

UPDATE: Sold out - Onell Design just dropped Searsden, which is presumably a blue-with-silver-boots redeco of Pheyden, in its online shop along with a new RealXHead Pheyaos (in 3 colors) and Knights of the Slice/Toy Pizza Rift Killer Hyper Mordireus - the latter of which is a 3 3/4-inch figure that will fit right in with your old Kenner Mini-Rigs.  Click here to check availability.
