A new figure is coming! Well, it's here because Healey Made put up the TROOPER (HYPER RECON) for $25. We've covered other versions of this Kenner-esque 3 3/4-inch figure, which may fit in nicely with some of your retro or ReAction or actual vintage toys.
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made THX Trooper Live Now. This is the long-expected and anticipated Stormtrooper colorway of this really good figure. Some are still in stock, so grab it if you can.
Via the Glyos News Dump: A New Healey Made Drop Wednesday. Is it purple? I don't know - but this indie 3 3/4-inch action figure will be up at 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 19 at the Healey Made Shop. They go great with your old retro Kenner figures.
If you like indie toys, retro Kenner-style and compatible figures, and lizard beings, have I got a link for you. Healey Made Returns with Assassin (Shadow), in stock now, along with the Raider (V.2)! If she looks familiar, she's similar to the Assassin (R-Complex) from 2021. The Raider was available last month and is a redeco similar to the original painted release from 2019. I've got these figures in other colors and they're one of my favorite things to pick up here and there, despite the price. The runs are pretty stunningly low, so if you want something special to pilot your old mini-rigs give these a look.
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Menu: May 27, 2023. Several years ago, the first painted Healey Made Glyos figure was the Raider (Shadow) - this new one changes up a few paint hits, and adds a cloth cape to the mix. It's basically just different enough to make you mad, but I bought one anyway. Click here to see if it's still able to be ordered. At press time it's still available for $25 and is a nice fit with your original Kenner figures, even if it's not really a Star Wars guy.
It sold out, but I still reviewed it at 16bit.com Figure of the Day. It's a 3 3/4-inch sci-fi figure in the style of classic Kenner figures.
It blue! The Healey Made Trooper (Shadow) Action Figure is unsurprisingly, a lot of fun to play with and seems like it would have been something Kenner made after it ran out of Ewoks and Droids. Because it's Glyos, you can mix and match with the other Healey figures - and he's a good match with the Raider or other Trooper. He sold out, but if you have the chance to buy one in this or another color you should.
Update: false alarm, just vinyl and resin - no 3 3/4-inch action figures.
It's almost May the 4th! While I am sick of the goofy pun that went from a horrible joke to a marketing holiday, I'm excited that new Retro Kenner reissues, Black Series, and Vintage figures are going up. But I'm also excited to see one of my favorite adjacent toymakers, Healey Made, is doing some restocks/new stuff. He does vinyl and PVC indie releases that are all pretty awesome, like the pictured Trooper (Shadow) action figure. It's worth checking out.
Click here to check his shop or click here to see all the Healey Made posts I made over at the Glyos News Dump.
He also does some swell resin wrestling figures based on famous alien action figures. You'd like them.
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Bulloch Assassin and Raider Returns. The Raider (Assassin) was also restocked, and they match! They also match the Trooper (Bulloch) from a few months ago, so with any luck, this is the last of the Bulloch colorways for a while.
This is a 3 3/4-inch scale action figure sculpted by a former Kenner employee. The head and limbs are removable via Glyos pegs, which I assume you know about, but you should go look them up if you don't. The figure has an alternate helmeted head and a blaster, and actually fits in pretty well with your old Kenner guys and ReAction Figures. The figures are $25 each and come packaged in a clear plastic bag.
And if that weren't enough, you can click here to see a bunch more Healey Made news and info at the Glyos News Dump.
Via the Glyos News Dump: New Healey Made Assassin March 11 at 2:00 PM EST. Details are unknown, but the previous Assassins were all pretty good and some were painted to look like Bossk and Pythona, if those names mean much to you.
I've reviewed a few of these before at 16bit.com. Click here to see the R-Complex Assassin, which is a green-skinned alien. Trando Assassin comes in Bossk colors. And of course the Assassin (GID) glows in the dark.
If you like indie toys - and dagnabbit, I'm trying to make you like them - you'll want to see the new Healey Made Raider (Bulloch) action figure. Made with Kennery goodness in mind, this not-quite-Tarkin/Boba Fett/Cobra Commander figure is $25.00 and will probably be sold out at some point in the middle of the week. (It's also painted to match the Trooper (Bulloch) figure we reviewed recently.) Click here to check availability.
For those keeping track, this is the whopping 36th colorway of this figure since its debut in 2019.
Via the Glyos News Dump: New Healey Made Raider Saturday, February 4. The Raiders are pretty fantastic figures and have come in dozens of colorways so far. They're not cheap, but they're about as close as you can get to a new old Kenner-style action figure... and I include Hasbro's own Kenner-style figures in the mix. These are generally, in terms of sculpt, closer to the original (old) article.
I really like these guys. Click here for a review of the Shadow Raider and click here for a look at the Revenge Raider.
While not licensed, this No. 39020 (second shooter) is a WWF-esque take on Greedo. A painted Japanese vinyl figure, pre-orders are now open for $70.00 a pop. (That's a lot more than his PVC figures, which tend to be $20-$25.) If you like wrestling and Kenner toys, this might be just the thing for you - or not, what do I know? Click here to check availability.
Over at 16bit.com Figure of the Day I look at newish and old action figures three times a week! They're very rarely Star Warsy, but this one is close enough to share here.
I just got this retro-Kenner-esque Healey Made Trooper (Bulloch) Action Figure and it's great. The new head works with old figures too, and it seems like the kind of thing Kenner would make if Star Wars action figures continued without new movies in the 1980s. It sold out, and I suggest getting one (or a future repaint) if it is possible to do so. Do read on, and stay tuned for whatever the next recolor may be!
Via the Glyos News Dump: Here Is the New Healey Made Trooper (Proto). The $20 unpainted figure is the first crack at a new mold that seems to borrow a bit from a few 1980s 3 3/4-inch action figure lines.
If it's still in stock, you can get one - future versions will be coming in a few months and are usually painted. Click here to see if the retro-looking Kenner-esque figure is still available.
Action Force/G.I. Joe themed Naughty & Nice Raider figures are up at Healey Made's shop now. While not Star Wars per se, the figures are said to have been sculpted by an old-timer in the toy business and they sure do look like a mishmash of Tarkin/Boba Fett/Cobra Commander. I have two of the earlier releases and they're fantastic - the bundle is $50 if it's still in stock.
