Hasbro Star Wars Blind Figures Coming to Japan

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, August 29, 2013

Friend of the site (to whom I owe an email or two) Daniel sent me this link to a Japanese site showcasing Hasbro's recent Saga Legends and Mission Series 3 3/4-inch action figures in blind boxes.   These new-to-me figures appear to be in Hasbro-branded boxes, which is unusual for the Japanese market, and as far as I can tell there are no obvious difference between their not-blind and likely cheaper US counterparts.

I should also point out - as one of my teachers in high school once told me - I suffer from being a chronic monolinguist, so if you know what these are you may want to provide some translation notes or other tidbits.  From the look of things there will be 15 figures (our line has 16 counting the variant Anakin eyes), but numerous Hasbro products are brought to Japan with significant deco changes for Transformers.  As such, keep your eyes peeled for additional details and please share them with the rest of the class if/when you find them.

Also, I suggest you watch the forums to see if any fans declare these to be superior due to a higher price tag or the Japanese on the boxes.  They tend to do that a lot, and it's fun to watch.  Also fun, the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kansas.  There's a few subtle jabs at Nixon as he historically hated his guts.  I haven't been to the Nixon library yet myself, but I'm told there are many model trains and pictures of Elvis.
