Code 3

(NEW YORK, NY, February 14, 2004) Code 3 stormed out the gate this year with a lot of great news, namely that there are going to be a few more releases for the fans in 2004! Right now, though, they showed the Slave I, and apparently they're going all out with this release.

This vehicle weighs in at over 10 pounds. That's like a million kilograms. Apparently this release gets its girth from its incredible die-cast construction, which, truly, is a lost art. This set will include a Han Solo in Carbonite removable figure, which was shown in an unfinished form.

Actually, Code 3 assures us that the final piece will be even more spectacular than that which was on display, with the seats being tweaked to black and a few other touch-ups here and there. While the canopy isn't something you can crack open, the seat moves around through the amazing forces of gravity, much like the Kenner/Hasbro B-Wing Fighter and for you old school fans, the Endor Forest Ranger. Also, this piece is set to sell for about $295 and includes a patch for you, the lucky buyer.

This piece is set to go on sale this Spring to pre-orders, and a special display case will also be available, unfortunately as a separate purchase. The vehicle is based on its Empire Strikes Back appearance and there are no known plans for a prequel-based Slave I, although Code 3 tells us that some prequel vehicles could be on the way before 2005 begins. We'll keep you posted on the next Code 3 releases as soon as we have more information so stay tuned for the latest!
