STAR WARS IS FOREVER
The
geeks’ answer to the Super Bowl is upon us, as San Diego Comic-Con
International begins its 37th year as the biggest event
in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genre. Last year over 100,000 guests flooded the
San Diego Convention Center to partake in the festivities, and this year
the turnout will be even greater. Galactic Hunter's team is on the
scene, ready to bring you the latest news and pictures as events happen live
from the floor (all 465,000 feet of show floor). We'll be covering our favorite
little men from Hasbro; busts and statues from Gentle
Giant; scaled, sculpted and gorgeously decked out figures from Sideshow
Toys; brick building buzz from LEGO; the most authentic
props and replicas ever seen in this hobby from Master Replicas;
and a whole lot more!

The big show wouldn't be what it
is today without the most highly sought-after exclusives in the collecting
arena, and this year is no disappointment. Hasbro is wooing
the geek vote with this year's coveted 501st Legion Stormtrooper action
figure and a con-only Gold Titanium Edition Vader's TIE Fighter.
The team from Rhode Island also have a free Star Wars Saga Collection action
figure poster just for the asking.
A slew of Comic-Con exclusive
goodies are on tap from Gentle Giant (including a 3,500
piece limited edition Shocktrooper in both mini-bust and
Bust-Up sizes) and a Darth Vader Bust-Up with a unique fiery
base.
Sideshow Toys has
a hyper-detailed Anakin Skywalker as Darth Vader (Sith Apprentice) 12" action
figure featuring Sith eyes and a special Lava Droid base,
limited to only 6,000 pieces. Sideshow also has
a limited run of 501st Legion Clone Troopers from
their Super Deformed range.
Code 3 Collectibles and Entertainment
Earth are teaming up to bring fans a limited edition sculpted
poster based on artwork by Howard Chaykin. Limited to 1,976 pieces, it's
a retro tribute to the first ever Star Wars poster, which was
available at Comic-Con back in 1976.
Master Replicas will
have a black chrome scaled Han Solo blaster (3,000 pieces),
perfect for shooting Greedo first and a Signature Edition FX
Darth Maul Lightsaber, which is limited to a mere 500 pieces.
That's a lot of Star Wars!
Lucasfilm is
expected to pull the blinds to give fans a first peep at the upcoming Clone
Wars 3D television program. With a live action television title in the
works, plus new 3D enhanced versions of the Star Wars saga, lucky
fans flocking to San Diego may be in for some major treats.
The doors are ready to burst open
with fans and collectors streaming in for a weekend of Star Wars (and
other genre) goodness, so stick with GalacticHunter.com, as we will
bring it straight to your screen as events unfold.
