(SAN DIEGO, CA, July 24, 2004)The real lack of new stuff at the LEGO Star Wars section may have bored some, but there's always something worth seeing if you can poke around the booths. New packaging and a free mini TIE Fighter construction set were on display, as well as the upcoming exclusive set featuring many different flavors of the TIE.
The booth itself was tucked away neatly within the massive Star Wars sector of the convention, and while it wasn't exactly brimming with news, it did have some great items like "Guess the number of bricks in R2-D2." If you do, you might win the new Millennium Falcon, and you got a mini TIE Fighter contruction set just for entering-- while supplies lasted, of course.
The 2004 edition Millennium Falcon was one of several new packaged sets on display, and as far as we can tell this is the same exact set we showed you from New York's Toy Fair this year, but with a new packaging that's vaguely like Hasbro's marvelous OTC design. It features more silver, and a border with some black, but on the whole it doesn't match the old fashioned packaging look we're used to.
The TIE four-pack is in the new packaging as well. For additional photos, be sure to visit our constantly updated
