Deluxe, Screen Scenes, and Multi-Packs

In the non-basic range, we have Deluxe, Screen Scenes, and multi-packs.

DELUXE
Previously seen but not in person were the Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jango Fett figures representing their battle on Kamino as well as a the wind-up Spider droid and the Super Battle Droid maker.

The Kamino duo sports unique sculpts and action figures that, when displayed together, represent a nice little scene from the film. While there’s nothing visibly revolutionary, these look like they will please fans when released a few months down the road.

The Super Battle Droid comes with a Play-Doh like compound that hardens and, unfortunately, gets brittle over time. This limits how long the play feature can be useful and, of course, makes the longevity of this piece questionable. Still, the factory component looks exquisite and the figure is icing on the cake. There’s a lot to like here.

Coming in as a little small but still pretty nicely constructed is the new Federation Spider Droid. As I did not get to play with it I have little to say, but
it does appear to be a sturdy little automation that will bring some extra firepower to the Separatist cause.

SCREEN SCENES
No longer exclusive, the first halves of two new scenes were revealed. No longer exclusive, these sets are expected ot be released at about $20 and will include three figures, one of which will be a new sculpt of a previously made character.

Jedi Coucil
Includes a surprisingly well-jointed Mace Windu alongside the first-ever Oppo Rancissis and Even Piell. No lightsabers are included, but the sculpts
appear to be top notch and this should appeal to fans. (These sets were first alluded to at Celebration II.) The base can connect to other bases, like Jedi Council set #2, which will be revealed—most likely—at one of the summer conventions. If one were to buy six Jedi Council scene packs, the complete Council Chamber could be constructed, but at this time there will only be two Jedi Council sets released. Also in the first pack is a small hologram who I could not identify nor could I find anyone who could identify it for me.

Geonosis War Room
The first half includes Poggle the Lesser, San Hill, and a Count Dooku with a Death Star hologram. The war room table has miniature replicas of vehicles on the battlefield and will, of course, connect to a currently unknown trio of figures to form a complete table.

TROOP PACKS
Carded trios of figures will be an integral part of the Clone Wars story and toy lines. 3 figures, $10.

Jedi
A very slick set including a human, a Rodian, and a Twi’lek. Articulation is limited to keep the price point down, but a few key joints will allow
customizers the ability to swap heads and create new and previously unseen Jedi warriors. While there was talk of the human resembling someone, Hasbro says it was not sculpted after anyone in particular.

Clones
Previously previewed, there’s a kneeling one, one lying down, and a Commander. What you see is essentially what you get, and it appears these will be well worth the price.

Droids
A Battle Droid, a Destroyer Droid, and a Super Battle Droid. Hasbro was not sure which Super Battle Droid would be included in this set as two new different SBDs were shown on the Clone Wars table. Each will be a previously unused sculpt with limited (but present) articulation.

Destroyer Droid Launcher
Includes a rolled-up Droid, a regular Droid, and the launcher. Originally, the rolling droid was to have transformed but there was a slight issue. On film, ILM cheated and fudged the design in wheel mode to allow for a smooth roll. So as to avoid problems with the authenticity of the Droid in robot mode, and to keep the wheel rolling nicely, they included an extra figure.
