Halloween Star Wars Droid at Disney - BB-BOO20

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, August 9, 2020

3826 UPDATE: MyDisneyShop's selling it online. $14.99 + shipping.  It does not appear to be run by Disney, but the price seems lowest so far.

The pumpkin-themed BB-BOO20 is showing up at Disney parks - and maybe elsewhere - across the USA.  While the theme parks are closed, eBay is open - and that's where we're seeing these now.  They're about $13 in stores, so when buying yours keep in mind tax is a couple of bucks and shipping is usually $5 or less.

The figure is a redeco fo the popular build-a-droid format BB droids we've been seeing for a few years, so they split in the middle and have removable heads.  They're neat.

New Theme Park Stuff Coming for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, December 4, 2019

3738 If you can't get enough of paying for parking and waiting in lines, Disney has a special treat for you.  Its Orlando debut of Rise of the Resistance means new ride, new stuff, and new things to fill your suitcase.  The info-tainment piece Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Attraction Merchandise Coming to Disney Parks on December 5 covers some of the shirts, pins, and other doodads - but the nifty vehicle and droid are probably the thing even us snooty, indoor fans will want.

Disney Confirms New Star Wars Droid - R2-H16

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 18, 2016

Hot - or cold - on the tail of last year's robot is the new R2-H16.  This festive fellow has a hat with ear flaps, which is reason alone enough to buy one as 3 3/4-inch scale droids seem to have become the new Vinylmation as our hobby as concerned.  The official Disney Parks site has a feature on this and other new items, including a Bluetooth Stormtrooper Commlink for your phone, new plush Ewoks based on the 1980s cartoons - seriously!, and other goodies.

Star Wars Presence Expected to Grow for Disney Parks

By Mike — Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Variety reports that Disney Theme Parks are planning a "far greater Star Wars presence" according to Bob Iger during a conference call with analysts reporting record third quarter results.“When we grow ‘Star Wars” presence, which we will do significantly, you will see better bets being made that will pay off for us than were made in the past,” adding that leveraging the collection of popular franchises and properties that the company owns for rides and experiences will deliver “better returns than we saw in the past.”
