Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,818: IG-11 (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Today's focus is on this new release: IG-11 (The Retro Collection). Because the 1980s never ended for some of us, Hasbro made figures that look like old Kenner releases. IG-11 looks a lot like IG-88, only softer, missing a few details, and not quite as perfect as gripping the blasters - but it's still pretty great. I also appreciate they elected to go with the "Credit Collection" red coloring to set it apart. Read the whole review.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,816: Kuiil (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 20, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,816: Kuiil (The Retro Collection). This Ugnaught looks a little bit different from the vintage one, and takes a few liberties with the rubbery head from the TV show. It's still cool, and a lot more colorful than the previous figures. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,815: Cara Dune (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 18, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Cara Dune (The Retro Collection). This is a good one - she can hold her blasters, stand, sit, and generally look like an old Kenner figure with a far better paint job than we would be likely to see in the 1980s. Unlike some other late-era Kenner women figures, she also has a neck. (Look at Kea Moll.) She's also a little short - but still a good figure. Mostly I'm just happy there's no vinyl cape to get in the way of vehicle interaction. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,812: The Mandalorian (The Retro Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog, it's the kind of figure I've been waiting for - and it's been a very long time. The Mandalorian (The Retro Collection)! It's great. Because the 1980s never ended for some of us, Hasbro made The Mandalorian figures that look like Kenner releases. From 1981. I'm not quite sure why they went with a vinyl cape for a post-ROTJ release, but it's still neat with bright colors and two great blasters. If you see it, especially for ten bucks, and you're old? This is a must-buy figure. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,810: The Mandalorian (6-Inch Value Figure, Black Logo Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, May 6, 2021

Probably at a store near you, just not in the toy aisles: The Mandalorian (6-Inch Value Figure, Black Logo Line Look). This $5 figure stands tall and may be hidden around your feet at a checklane at a Walmart near you. I suggest going at night when the lanes are mostly empty - each one has different stuff in it, so next to the candy bars and batteries might be a figure with four joints and surprisingly nice paint for the asking price. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,808: The Child (6-Inch Value Figure, Black Logo Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, May 3, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day column, which may well be eternal: The Child (6-Inch Value Figure, Black Logo Line Look). It's a 6-inch scale figure that sells for under $5 at Walmart, but it's also about 1/2-inch bigger than The Black Series The Child. And half the price. For your money, this is one of the better values out there for a figure of this particular character - and we'll look at his Mandalorian companion later this week, too. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,798: Greef Karga (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 8, 2021

Today in Figure of the Day: Greef Karga (The Vintage Collection). He's based on the season two costume, which looks great - that means he traded the mustache for a beard, and it's a little thin on this figure. Still, the costume translates nicely to a toy and the range of motion is pretty good considering his robes. The blaster has a working holster, too. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,797: The Child (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, April 6, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: The Child (The Black Series 6-Inch). This one was packed with Target's exclusive 6-inch Mando, and has an arm permanently raised, reaching out. Also the flying pram from the end of season one. It's tiny, but is it worth a $15 upcharge over a standard Mandalorian figue... that you'll probably never ever see in stores anyway? Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,795: Din Djarin (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, April 1, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Din Djarin (The Black Series 6-Inch). He's got a removable helmet with a nose bump, a little green sidekick, some slabs of metal, and a floating baby stroller - plus some other stuff. It's not cheap, but you get a lot in the box if you can find one. Read on.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,792: The Child (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, March 25, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: The Child (The Vintage Collection). He's tiny. He has a the hovering pram and a frog. He also costs more than the 6-inch scale one - but you will probably want this one anyway. Also I was surprised to actually see this at a Target last night. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,785: Bo-Katan Kryze (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, March 9, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day: Bo-Katan Kryze (The Black Series 6-Inch). She's a new figure you'll probably never see on shelves because everybody else wants her, so ordering online might be a good move. The sculpting is great, but you'll notice a lot of sculpted scrapes and scuffs that lack any sort of decoration - which is a shame, it's a great sculpt with a good helmet and an excellent head under said helmet. Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,780: Incinerator Trooper (The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Today in Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day: Incinerator Trooper (The Vintage Collection). You can get a big one, or at Walmart, you can get the smaller exclusive one. It's good, it has fire with it. It doesn't have the Imperial cog on the backpack, though, but I'd still say get it if you're a fan of either The Force Unleashed or The Mandalorian. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,778: Kuiil (The Black Series 6-Inch)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, February 16, 2021

He farms water and is our Figure of the Day today: Kuiil (The Black Series 6-Inch)! It's the first figure of this character and one of very few new Ugnaught figures this century. He's short. He's got a hat. You're going to want this one - it's not amazing, but it's pretty fantastic. Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,777: The Child (with Din Djarin, The Vintage Collection)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, February 11, 2021

Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: The Child (with Din Djarin, The Vintage Collection). It's a positively tiny little gremlin with jointed arms and a neck. The paint is good, the sculpt is good, and you probably want it if you don't already have one in your house. Read on!
