Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,572

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, June 23, 2011

One of Jabba's dancers, this Rystall figure has been readily available online throughout the 2000s, cheaply, and has been blown out and later reissued as a Wal-Mart exclusive. In short: she's very very cheap.  Should you get one?  Read on!

After Hasbro gave us our first R3-A2, it was a little surprising to see them go back and try again-- but hey, it's way better! This build-a-droid was a wonderful release that, hopefully, you bought. Because it's great.  Read on!

If you love Tusken Raider figures, Hasbro decided to do you a solid by releasing a "red clan" in early 2007 so you can add a little something new and different to your collection. I like this idea.  So how did the "vintage" molded figure turn out?  Read on!

This Shadow Trooper is supposed to be a Clone in bounty hunter disguise.  Not a very good one, as it looks pretty much like the Shadow Troopers of Utapau.  It's neat though-- as German exclusives that got dumped online go, it's nice enough.  Read on!

Before you bring the funk-- as I assume that's what you'll be doing if you aren't watching Super 8-- check out this Super Battle Droid.  It's part of a Battle Pack which is pretty easy to get, so if you're in the market for something new (to you) it might be worth a look.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,567

In 1991, we found out Han and Leia had kids.  In 2010, we got figures of them.  Jacen Solo was born with the big Star Wars comeback of the 1990s but didn't get a toy until he was both an adult, and if memory serves he was quite dead by the time the toy happened. (SPOILERS?

If you like black repaints of the Scout Trooper, Hasbro has been really good to you over the past few years.  This Storm Commando is one of four repaints and/or remolds I can think of off the top of my head, exclusive to Wal-Mart last Spring. Should you care?  Read on!

While you start hunting for the new, just-relased Logray don't forget to bolster your Ewok armies with the likes of Kettch here.  He's a Wal-Mart exclusive and comes with amror!  How about that?  Get one. Read on!

He's new!  It's Bom Vimdin which is apparently the current official spelling of this guy, who's a really cool Cantina alien that Hasbro absolutely smashed out of the park. Good things come to those who wait... 34 years.  Read on!

Packaged as Ace-38 but often referred to as AC-38, this new action figure is at Disney parks now and is part of those $39.95 boxed sets the kids are all crazy about.  Is it worth it?  I think so.  Read on!

If you like orange troopers, this Clone Trooper Lieutenant was one you should've bought last year-- mostly because you can't get one easily today.  It has a swell hook launcher which doesn't actually launch.  It's still pretty cool-- read on!

New Hasbro Star Tours Figure Packs Out at Disney Parks

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, June 9, 2011

The new Star Tours action figure sets are at the Disney parks right now.  These new Hasbro action figure gift sets each sport at least 4 action figures plus new accessories.  Some are better than others, and they're $39.95 each.  (My pal Shannon was kind enough to pick mine up from Disneyland.)  More details after the jump from someone who hasn't been on the new ride yet. UPDATE: Called out "differences" on repackaged figures.

Hey kids, it's the super-cool Rohlan Dyre figure! He has a lot of gear, a lot of armor, and a lot of not being in a store near you.  Should you get this Mandalorian?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,560

One of the fascinating things about this hobby is that, at times, Hasbro will pluck an obscure movie character from the film and drop it in the toy aisles, like General McQuarrie here. Fans weren't asking for him, but we got him-- and he's neat!  Read on!

One of the best repaints out if Hasbro's Original Trilogy Collection line were the Jawas.  The 1997 2-pack got a fresh coat of paint in 2004, and it looked fantastic.  The packaging was great, too!  Does it hold up to more modern sculpts?  Read on!
