The Toys R Us Exclusive Star Wars The Vintage Collection Republic Gunship is out now - it includes Yoda, a Clone Trooper, a Clone Pilot, 2 gunner pods, and a ship. That's the good news, as our pal @MattGuzy confirmed he found on in Arizona on the Twitter. The bad news? It's $119.99.
So I got the new Amazon Exclusive Vintage Collection TIE Interceptor here, and the big question I've been hearing - a lot - is "is it different?" The answer is yes, actually - the plastic color is different enough from other movie versions of the ship to be notable, so let's find out more.
If you've been feeling that Hasbro's offerings have been a little lacking lately, Bloomberg has an article with some proof. Headline: Lego Beats Hasbro as World’s No. 2 Toymaker Amid Asia Sales Jump. According to the article:
Friend of the site (to whom I owe an email or two) Daniel sent me this link to a Japanese site showcasing Hasbro's recent Saga Legends and Mission Series 3 3/4-inch action figures in blind boxes. These new-to-me figures appear to be in Hasbro-branded boxes, which is unusual for the Japanese market, and as far as I can tell there are no obvious difference between their not-blind and likely cheaper US counterparts.

After almost a year of waiting since it was teased at Celebration VI in Orlando last year, we finally started to get our Amazon exclusive The Vintage Collection jumbo Slave I vehicle. It's 20-inches long, almost 50% bigger than the previous releases of Boba's vehicle, and has more features than ever. One of these features is a rotating wings and a gravity-centered pilot's station inside the cockpit, and in the 2010 The Clone Wars Rise of Boba Fett Battle Pack it worked great. This new version needs some work - a bad spring prevents things from locking properly. Want to fix it? Go get a Phillips head screwdriver, an old clicky pen, and read on.
A few of you have written in because your Amazon Exclusive The Vintage Collection Boba Fett's Slave I vehicle has arrived! But here's the thing - some of them are showing up in a nice Hasbro-made white mailer box, and others, well, aren't.
UPDATE: I added some comments about an errant spring and how you can fix it with a pen and a screwdriver and just a dash of gumption.
Today's the day - and it's early! The Amazon Exclusive Boba Fett's Slave I is in stock now, for all of you 3 3/4-inch action figure fans. This is the larger mold of the ship, which is modeled after the 2010 The Clone Wars version of the vehicle sold at Toys R Us. Click here to order yours, or if you already did, it's probably shipping to you today or tomorrow. A few more notes after the jump.
With The Black Series' 6-inch action figure line, Hasbro is focusing on adult and collector fan favorites which means Darth Maul is a sure thing. Traditionally the one character from the first prequel that everybody agrees is worth owning, Hasbro did a great job on this figure and it's probably the best-looking action figure of Mr. Maul we'll ever see. Because every line needs a hero, The Black Series' 6-inch action figure line brings us the Rebel Pilot version of Luke Skywalker from the original Star Wars. This figure is exceptional, with great detail and the ability to do things not all pilots can do - he can sit! With Bespin Luke due soon, should you order the pilot version now? Hasbro's launch of The Black Series' 6-inch action figure line kicks off with a figure that wasn't (but should've been) in the original line with the Sandtrooper. Having transformed from just a stormtrooper with mud and a shoulder pad to a surprisingly robust creation with unique knee armor, multiple guns, a giant backpack, and ammo pouches, this is undoubtedly the first 6-inch retail figure that you not only want, but simply must have. It's been in the works for a while, as the economy and collector interests have made The Black Series' 6-inch action figure line an essential addition. R2-D2 is our token representation of the original 12 in the debut wave. Seeing as how fully-realized we've seen the droid in the 3 3/4-inch scale, is it possible to make him better - or just bigger? It's not every day that Hasbro gets a new license! 2015 is shaping up to be a very crowded year for the toy giant, with Star Wars 7, Avengers 2, and Jurassic Park IV as potential toy lines. Today, they've added B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations to the mix. Read the full release after the break.
