Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,938

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 16, 2012

It's the new Aayla Secura!  This is a great upgrade for a figure most of us thought was pretty good - the new 2012 edition has amazing articulation, more gear, and an improved paint job.  The 2005 one was already really good, so you'll want to see what's on the table this time around.

Star Wars Action Figures Inducted To National Toy Hall Of Fame

By Mike — Thursday, November 15, 2012

It's been way overdue, but Star Wars action figures have been inducted to the National Toy Hall of Fame for 2012, along with Dominoes. With over $20 billion in sales generated since 1978, Star Wars action figure toys beat out Clue, Lite Brite, and the Magic 8 Ball for the honor.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,937

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, November 15, 2012

Love it or hate it, it's hard to deny that this Darth Maul has the best portrait on any version of the character at this scale.  It's awesome.  The articulation is a little light, but the figure looks better and stands more easily than his siblings.  Can we call this one a "win"?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,936

Here's a neat repaint from a Battle Pack earlier this year.  Clone Trooper Hardcase is a new-ish figure in that he's a new character based on a familiar mold, and arguably worth the price of admission.  Did you get yours yet?

Video Review: Emperor's Royal Guard Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Hey kids, it's the Emperor's Royal Guard!  The new Vintage version is a pretty slick figure with all of the bells and whistles you might expect from a 2012 figure, with one major missing feature.  What is it?  Well, watch the review after the break, true believers!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,935

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 13, 2012

The Silver and Red Droid Factory R2-Series Astromech Droid  is very much like R2-M5, but it's a little bit more orange and has a hole in his head for the purposes of hats.  This is a good reason to buy a figure.  Hats = better.  This one is shown in Mickey Mouse ears, but... geez, if that isn't an apt metaphor for the  last few weeks I don't know what is.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,934

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 12, 2012

Sith happens! Hahahaha  kill me.  This Darth Vader is showing up in greater numbers after debuting as a swell Comic-Con 2012 International exclusive.  It's basically the Vintage figure with some new  bits.  Is it worth the $10?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,933

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 9, 2012

Based on the last season of the original Clone Wars cartoon, this Anakin Skywalker figure is tarted up with leech secretions and looks pretty dang great!  Sure, we got a "realistic" version later but this is where the unique look came from.  You want one, right?

Costco: Jedi Force Epic Rivals Exclusive

By Mike — Thursday, November 8, 2012

Reader Patrick Curatola sends the heads up that Costco is now selling their exclusive Jedi Force Epic Rivals set featuring Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, R2-D2, an X-Wing Fighter, and Vader's TIE Advance X-1 Fighter.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,932

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, November 8, 2012

So Adi Gallia got her last new figure around 2004, which was itself a retool of the 1999 figure, which wasn't that great in the first place.  She can sit, and a Stass Allie figure was released at the same time that is, for all intents and purposes, the same dang figure.  It's part of the Jedi High Council set, so fans elevate her higher than the figure deserves, and diorama display people will probably want this one too.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,931

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, November 7, 2012

This R2-D2 is pretty slick, and has been released twice so far... each time as an exclusive.  The uniquely sculpted figure has blown-open panels and exposed wiring, effectively making this a "dead" R2-D2.  It's wonderful.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,930

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Ahhh this is a good one.  Thanks to my pal Shannon for helping me to get the Black R6 Series Astromech Droid, one of my favorites from the new Droid Factory at Disney Hollywood Studios Orlando.  Is it worth tracking down?

Video Review: Target Exclusive Special Edition Darth Maul Tin Fighter Pods Set

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 5, 2012

It's on sale for a couple of  bucks off right now! The Target Special Edition Darth Maul Tin Fighter Pods Set should be widely available near you, and it's pretty good.  Eight of the figures are repacks from series 1, but there are several unique clone troopers, a metallic Darth Maul, and the first-ever figure of Ziro the Hutt plus some uniquely-shaped pods.  I won't lie to you, I happily paid full price for it just to get a Ziro.  Check out all the new little figures after the break.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,929

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 5, 2012

Here's an interesting one which shares a name with a popular menu item at a place like going for lunch.  Shu Mai is a bright, colorful figure with excellent detail, limited articulation, and she's part of a pretty decent gift set that's actually pretty cheap these days.

Video Review: Weequay Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 2, 2012

OK, so who do we got going on tonight?  Looks like Weequay, a remake of a figure which has been, historically, one of the best.  Kenner did an awesome one in 1983, and another great one in 1997.  The 2012 Vintage Collection release is pretty swell, too.  You'll want to see this one up close... or just watch the video after the jump.
