Hasbro sent us another exciting batch with a mix of new images of things we've seen and new stuff. The newest of the new is the Target Exclusive Star Wars The Search for Luke Skywalker set, which sports a retooled vintage Hoth Han Solo (hood not up, dagnabbit) alongside a newly-tooled Tauntaun and a Hoth Rebel Trooper. All this and Vintage Ponda Baba on card, plus more, after the break. CLICK IT.
Hasbro sent us a whole mess of pictures today, so let's get started with the sharing. The Comic-Con Exclusive Revenge of the Jedi Action Figure Boxed Set is (so far) the only 2011 exclusive for this brand, and it sports mostly repacks. Of note, a variant Rebel Commando is introduced, and exclusive-to-this-set mini reackaged versions of Salacious Crumb and a Mouse Droid are included. More pics? After the break, of course!
The rumors are true! Today Toys"R"Us emailed little ol' us pics and info on a new Republic Commando Delta Squad Action Figure set which will be sold at Comic-Con in San Diego, via Toys"R"Us, at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343. And yes, there are new molds in here. More pics after the jump.
One of the most likable critters from Jabba's Palace is the cackling puppet Salacious Crumb. He's a jerk. What's not to love? The 2010 release was a repaint of the 2007 release, hardly essential were it not for the fact it came with a new Jabba and Oola. So how is he different? Read on!
Continuing their ongoing and proud tradition, Gente Giant posted the Comic-Con Exclusive 2011 McQuarrie Concept Snowtrooper Bust! It looks a lot like the picture. Pre-orders are open for guild members, and the rest of us poor schmucks get to wait and cross our fingers. Read more.
If you've been enjoying Hasbro's Kenner-style Special Action Figure Set 3-packs at Target, the guys at LightGeschindigKeit.de have fully-packaged shots of more of them-- with no new figures and a few decent repacks. As always, figures are from Star Wars and Empire. Read on!
Over at the Gentle Giant Blog, they revealed their next 2011 San Diego Comic-Con International exclusive: a giant Vinyl Caped Jawa! Neato. Guild member pre-orders are up now and for the rest of us... well, I'm crossing my fingers.
One of the dangers for holding back product announcements for one or two times a year is that leaks are pretty likely-- especially when a "leak" is a full release of the product in another country! MouseDroid.com reports that Toys R Us Australia already has the Y-Wing Fighter for AUS$69.99. Hasbro has still yet to confirm this item for a US release, but odds are the USA will be seeing it in July or August.
So remember a few months ago when we posted a shot of a really big Executor toy that LEGO hadn't announced yet? Well, LEGO announced it with some high-res pics. So let's all pretend it's a surprise and read on! (Seriously, it looks cool.)
The new Star Tours action figure sets are at the Disney parks right now. These new Hasbro action figure gift sets each sport at least 4 action figures plus new accessories. Some are better than others, and they're $39.95 each. (My pal Shannon was kind enough to pick mine up from Disneyland.) More details after the jump from someone who hasn't been on the new ride yet. UPDATE: Called out "differences" on repackaged figures.
Over at Sandtroopers.com is a Y-Wing Fighter gallery of an as-of-yet unannounced vehicle which is, clearly, an upcoming Toys R Us exclusive. Painted up similarly to the red-striped 1970s die-cast metal vehicle, this retooled vehicle has a redesigned interior plus the first-ever modern era astromech socket. Check it out!
If you have Ross stores in your area, it may be worth your while to check out their toy sections. The until-just-recently online exclusive Plourr Ilo and Dlrr Nepp Comic Pack has been showing up at the clothing discounter for about $5.99-- a great price for 2 pilot figures! Good hunting.
We've read a few reports, most notable from the Yakface.com forums, that the long-delayed AT-ST from Galactic Heroes has arrived! Retail is $34.99. Originally slated as a September Kohl's exclusive last year, the item has been in limbo since showing up in the UK. But now? Toys "R" Us is getting it. Read more at Yakface.com!
If you collected vehicles from the 1978-1985 era of Star Wars toys, you no doubt recall some gorgeous photography on the boxes. Not being one to miss a good opportunity, Hasbro (by way of the great Sandtroopers.com) seems to be giving Kmart an exclusive Vintage B-Wing! Read on for more.
