So I popped open my new Endor sets yesterday and then I did some research to see who these guys were-- because other than Grizz Frix, the figures like Sila Kott are supremely obscure. Heck, they didn't all have names just yet... and Sila's gender is up to discussion! Read on!
The two Battle Over Endor action figure packs are hitting Toys "R" Us as you read this-- each is $24.99, which is a really good value for 4 new figures these days. Of note, my R5-P9 was packaged backward, with his dome spun around 180 degrees. There's nothing wrong with the figure once you open it, but it's possible some (or all) may be sold this way. Also, each package has a different Return of the Jedi-themed backdrop.
Over at Sandtroopers.com they revealed not one, not two, but three unique boxed sets of three figures each. The Vintage Kenner Star Wars 3-Packs are some of the most rare and difficult action toy collectibles to track down, let alone compile a complete set. To commemorate Empire's 30th anniversary, Hasbro teams up with Target to produce 3 packs within a 3 pack and reproduces the classic Kenner packaging that sends wings aflutter for many who love the nostalgia and design of the black and silver piping as well as that Kenner logo.
I got my box of Entertainment Earth Exclusive Comic Packs today (full disclosure: I work there for my day job) and I was surprised to see not only was a bonus helmet included for Baron Fel, but a new, previously unseen comic pack based on Empire Strikes Back movie figures-- including one you might find particularly desirable-- were shown on the back. While no plans are known for a release date of this item, we have more pics of this unique set (and quick text reviews of the rest) after the jump.
