By Mike — Saturday, February 11, 2012

There's more on the way for 2012 including a new Pilots Battle Pack with Porkins and Tiree and an Ewoks set with Kneesa and Teebo courtesy of POTF2.com. We like the nod to the animated series with the Ewoks set but did Porkins go on a Slim Fast diet?.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,738

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, February 10, 2012

New! You probably bought this Darth Maul by now, knowing full well that it's the first completely new sculpt based on the movie costume since 2005.  It has ball joints.  It has ball elbows.  It has a new head.  But is this enough?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,737

Because you asked!  Aurra Sing is part of that frighteningly new Walmart exclusive wave of Discover the Force figures with awkward, sure-to-be-damaged 3D glasses hanging off the side.  I don't doubt she will be the most popular figure in the wave, with an antenna (finally!) and an awesome lightsaber suitcase.

This bright orange Bomb Squad Trooper comes from a new Battle Pack with 3 new Clones in it.  Naturally, it's the one that sells out first.  Should you chase him down?  Read on!

The Force "Discovered": Walmart Exclusives Rolling Out

By Mike — Wednesday, February 8, 2012

The 1999 party continues and it's happening at Walmart. The Discover The Force exclusives are now being put out just in time for the release of The Phantom Menace 3D this weekend. Our initial concerns about single case assortments being found have been proven unwarranted by the wonderful revelation that Walmart stores (most of them anyway) will be placing a POS display with all 17 exclusive pieces including 12 figures, 2 Battle Packs, 2 Vehicles, and the Qui-Gon Jinn Electronic Lightsaber. Discover The Force indeed!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,735

Another Geonosian Warrior?  Yup! You can build an army out of the different versions Hasbro made, including this 2-pack release from 2010.  Is this now-clearanced figure worth it?  Read on, and be sure to vote in the new FOTD poll!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,734

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, February 6, 2012

This is the brand-new Anakin Skywalker figure that Hasbro just released in the last couple of weeks.  It looks a lot like the other ones, but it is indeed a brand-new, thinner sculpt with new accessories.  Do you need a lightsaber launcher?  Well, no, of course you don't.  But aren't you the slightest bit curious if it's any fun?  I am.

Discover The Force Figures Are Out

By Mike — Monday, February 6, 2012

The Walmart exclusive Discover The Force wave of action figures have finally hit the U.S. SWCollector reports finding the entire assortment at a store in Texas. The pricepoint is relative to the Movie Heroes line at $8.96 each and looks to be packed 1 per case. This may portend to tough hunting in the onset for the likes of Ric Olie and G8-R3, since these are a few of the figures in the wave which aren't planned to be re-issued in Vintage cards later in the year.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,733

One good Tiin deserves another!  Saesee Tiin is based loosely on the animation model, plopping a new head on Obi-Wan Kenobi's body.  Is he worth tracking down?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,732

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, February 2, 2012

Did you know Hasbro made an entire Jedi High Council collection complete with seats? It's true! Saesee Tiin was one of 18 figures spread over 2 years and 6 sets, but is he a good figure in his own right? Or should you buy it for the chairs?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,731

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, February 1, 2012

This Nute Gunray figure from 2003 was Hasbro's last to date, and it reuses bits and pieces from the 1999 original.  Is he worth grabbing?  Read on!

Image Bank: Mos Espa Arena (Discover The Force)

By Mike — Monday, January 30, 2012

This set as a whole is not bad. The not fully assembled Episode I C-3PO, while lacking the 14 points of articulation we see as standard today, is as solidly sculpted and painted now as it was back in 1999. The only drawback is that he can't hold the included Anakin Podracer flag as he should be able to. The Power of the Jedi Sebulba (Boonta Eve Challenge) sculpt is good enough and Anakin Skywalker, from 2000's POTJ "mechanic" figure, is marginal for what he is due to the limited articulation. This Anakin mold is also used for the Target 2 Pack exclusive, with the "dirtier" variation for this Battle Pack.
