    Any future Gi Joe Plans?

Besides the movies, does anyone know if they have plans to do any cartoons or anything to carry the brand to today's younger kids?

    Knowing is half the battle...

I have heard that Renegades will continue on Netflix. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. The style is nice, and it is a nice modernization of the ARAH characters.

I'm very curious as to what the movie follow-up toy line will look like. When they delayed the movie release, I thought it was a bad move, but maybe the "more Channing" they're supposedly adding will actually be a good thing for the flick and future popularity.

If the Hasbro team is able to revisit the POC style, they could keep doing that for years to come and I'd be a happy Joe fan.

I thought the 'deletion' of some of the characters from the sequel is going to be a mistake anyway.

Agreed. I wasn't crazy about the first movie, but it wasn't the characters as much as the overall story/situations that fell short for me. I'm not really a fan of changing a characters race just to fill some "quota", but it doesn't bother me as much as it does some folks.

It wasn't even so much about filling a "quota". It was just stupid seeing as there are so many Joes who are African-American to start with. If they'd called him Alpine it would have been perfect. He was a bit on the comedy relief side anyways. Hell, Stalker was a founding member. Iceberg or Hardball even. No need to switch Ripcord around. Which led to him being changed in the Renegades show as well. Just stupid.
It is more suspensful when you don't know what's going on.

Yeah, it was pretty pointless. It's not even like they could claim that Ripcord was SO popular that they needed to use him specifically. I've always considered Ripcord a 2nd or 3rd tier Joe myself. I have a feeling that the climactic plane sequence at the end was the first scene they visualized and then had to pigeon-hole a character that wanted to fly...

The first GI JOE was TERRIBLE. Only one way to go from there...

I would not be opposed to having GI Joe 're-booted'. Heck, it took what 2 to 3 tries to get Captain America right. Another couple to get Punisher right.
