Well, well, well. This is a bit of a surprise. Thought for sure we were gone for good, forum wise. So nice to be home.:)

Finally, it was like being separated from family. Too bad there is no way to recover the old stuff.

Yeah, I was surprised as well to discover the forum suddenly returning. Why was it taken down in the first place? I'll admit, I stopped visiting it regularly during those last few months due to the declining participation from other members. There just wasn't enough conversation going on to keep it interesting. Hopefully that will change with its return.

We wanted to bring the old forums in its original state and tried looking at various options, but alas, it wasnt to be. So we liked what we saw in VBulletin and made the investment and hopefully with Episode VII in the horizon, things can start picking up again.
I'm hoping some of the original members find their way back like apokolips, mousedroid, SpiritOf, musasa, jodo, InfamyofCrete and a few others. Looking forward to new discussions over some servings of Dewgarita!

Hey guys! It's good to see the forums back up. I was just a lurker before, but since I've been taking heat elsewhere for suggesting that sculpt is just as important as articulation, I thought I'd register here... ;)

Welcome to the GH forums, Guido! I think that's a good argument to be made. The recent Bespin Battle Packs being a good example.

Bit of a blast from the past....long live the old BHC
I'm back! I'll post a shout-out to some of our old gang that I've kept up with on Facebook.

Wow, I REAALLLLY want to do some category posts just so I don't have to see so many "nevers" on the main page! Has there been thought as to how the different line sections should be organized/threaded? By wave? Individual figure? I don't want to post just for the sake of it, but we need to have some discussion topics, y'know?

And Big Red, I have missed his in depth ramblings.

Guido, I started some threads in The Vintage Collection section topically per figure. Right now, we're still trying to figure things out but we're open to suggestions from the community.

I agree. It would be cool if Big Red came back. Dennis TPM also.

I'm feeling all misty. Busy at the moment, so anything in-depth or rambling will have to wait. :D

LOL. I actually only set foot in a Meijer about once a year now. My son works for Kroger so we get a discount there. Plus, Meijer's prices on their non-sale items (especially Meijer brand stuff) went way up, so it's seldom worth it to go there.

OK, we got Burn, Name and Jodo and BigRed... How about Mousedroid and Andrew? Mr. PL?
lord...PL had disappeared long before the forums failed.

Yes he did. Was going to ask about him myself though. We should try to get JGordan24 torn away from that 'other' site and get him back here.
I was just thinking about PL a few weeks ago for some reason...I miss the old gang!

I really thought GH was gone for good. Glad to see it back, especially with more SW films on the horizon. Missed you guys.

So- it lives?
Is this the expected pace for forum growth? In 2 month's we've got 150 registered folks, but it seems like the active user number drops daliy- right now it's at 36. Any thoughts on this? Was it this quiet in it's previous life? How can there be 36 active users when it seems all of the posts are from the same 10 or so folks? Are the 10 of us SO lame that we're scaring away the crowds?!?
LOL, I was hoping the "old gaurd" might be a bit more active. :p
I would argue that our awesomeness is intimidating. XD :p
Big Red

I was hoping more of the old guys would have come back and been more active, especially with news of the new sequels.

I like this this site. I've read the FOTD since day 1, I follow Adam's Q&A's when he gets off his lazy butt to do them :p, and I enjoyed browsing the old forums. When they reopened, I think I was the 7th or 8th to register, and was hoping this could be a nice alternate to RS, which can get tedious.
So what draws new people? How can we encourage the current users to be more active?
Big Red
01-06-2013, 10:17 AM
I haven't checked RS in a while, and haven't been able to sign up with either of my real email addresses in years thanks to PW banning me ages and ages ago. Perhaps casually mentioning that GH is back and active could draw some folks back. I'd also imagine a bit more activity once more Disney details emerge.
Oh yeah, I think once more news of the Disney movies begins to surface we'll see some more active members sign up.
....But you can't replace the classics, baby. :p ;)

Hey Jodo, it goes well. In fact, it pretty much goes exactly the same as it went when the BH forms disappeared what was it, two years ago? I'm still in the same job, same house and same car, though usually not all at the same time.
My SW collecting is still as curtailed as it has been since 2004 or so, and I have sold off the majority of my modern collection. I'm still a fan though, and after skipping CVI last year, I've decided to blow even more money by flying to Germany (Motto: Ve had Stormtroopers ven Lucas vas still in der Kinderhosen) for CEII.
I just stumbled upn the forums a couple of days ago (can't even remember what caused me to drop by GH in the first place) so I haven't had a chance to catch up on the "What are you doing now?" thread, or whatever it's called, but I will soon.

Welcome back, Mousedroid! Get caught up and start posting so I have something else to keep me going on slow nights.
Sometimes staying the same isn't a bad thing! Are we still celebrating birthdays in a few days? ;) :p
I wish I had the initiative to sell my collection, but still haven't gotten around to it. >< CEII sounds exciting though!
