The M.T.T. has some awesome play features, as seen in this demo video/commercial from Hasbro! Retract the Rack!

Oooh, "Retract the Rack!"... that might be the best action feature since "Jedi Robe!". I did order this behemoth last week for $90ish from TRU.com, and I must say I am very happy with it. The droids are decent filler (personally I will be leaving them in the rack), there is A LOT of storage space, and the toy is pretty large. While the droid deployment is more fun than any feature on the other four big vehicles, overall the MTT does end up falling short. It doesn't look as impressive as the BMF, AT-TE, or @@, and it also doesn't merit the normal $130+ price tag. Despite not stacking up to previous offerings, it is awesome to finally have an MTT in my collection, as it is something I have wanted as a toy since 1999.

Honest assessment: If you see this for less than $100, love battle droid figures, and have space for a big vehicle pick this up. Otherwise, definitely pass, since it will probably be a huge disappointment.

Am I the only one who has no real desire to buy this vehicle? And might I add that I frakking love vehicles?

Back when E1 first came out, this was one of the vehicles I most wanted to see released. I nearly spent $300 on the big, plastic cooler, or whatever it was, shaped like this that was released in Japan. I probably would have bought 8-10 of these back then.

Wow! I don't think I've seen the cooler! I always loved the look of the AAT Tank myself. I have the TMP released one, as well as a much more detailed model kit that I always enjoyed playing with, as it was to the same scale and looked darn good!

I think the general consensus around the net is that the MTT sucks. My local Toys R Us appeared to have at least ten on an overhead shelf the other day, so it doesn't appear to be selling overly well. I still like it, but it's definitely not a toy I would have paid full price for.

As for the MTT cooler, I had never heard of it before reading this thread. I had to search for pics and I found some on Rebelscum. It's definitely a cool piece.

I'm not sure why they released it now. I'd have thought that the E1 ship had sailed years ago, especially for large vehicles. You'd think that while discussing which large vehicle or playset to come out with they'd have been able to come up with something better. Say, a Death Star, Star Destroyer, Cloud City, Jabba's Barge, Ewok Village, Dagobah, Wuhrer's cantina, Jabba's palace, the Tantive IV, etc.

It was meant to tie into the 3D rerelease of TPM. Unfortunately, it didn't hit until many months later.

TPM was rereleased?

Yeah, I had actually forgotten about that until I heard about Disney bumping up the re-release dates of the other prequels.

That cooler is actually really awesome! If that had been more widely available, I probably would have tried to find one myself!

I think the only time I even tried on an auction for one of the coolers back then, I dropped out when the bidding hit $300.
