Right now, I'm not actively reading anything. At least not for myself. I am reading a couple books to the family, but I've been way too busy to read anything for myself. I have a handful of books that have been in progress for anywhere from a month or two to nearly a year, including Mark Twain's autobiography, Hail Holy Queen by Scott Hahn and Fearing the Stigmata by Matt Weber. I have a stack of books to read once I'm done with those, but I have a hard time getting the time to read a magazine article, let alone a full book. I'm hoping to get back on track with my reading, so I thought I'd check to see what everyone else might be reading and if they have any decent recommendations.

Not much has changed as far as my reading time goes in the last few months. Before our 2.5-year-old was born, I was on a reading spree, going through 14-15 books in about 2 months. After she arrived, I didn't read much of anything for a year or so. Once she got to be a little more independent I finally started finding time to read again. Then our 1-year-old was born and I lost my reading time again. I'm hoping to get back to some regular reading time again soon.

I did manage to finish the Scott Hahn and Matt Weber books I was reading back in December. That's not saying much since I only had about 100 pages to read between the two of them. I did manage to force myself to do some reading over the last several weeks. I was taking a class at our church and had to read a couple books for that (The Fathers of the Church by Mike Aquilina and Living the Mysteries by Mike Aquilina and Scott Hahn). They never give us the extra reading in advance so I wasn't able to get a jump on it. I also got the books on my Kindle instead of paper copies of them. This ended up being a problem for me. We weren't required to read either book in its entirety. Unfortunately, the reading selections were by page number instead of by chapter or sections of chapters, whereas the Kindle doesn't use page numbers. This meant that I had to read the whole book to make sure I didn't miss anything, so while the rest of the class was reading 50-80 pages each week, I was reading 100-120 pages each week. With my work schedule, I had two days each week at most to get my reading in. The last class was this past Tuesday, and I came up about 40 pages short. I'll try to finish those this week. At the same time, I was trying to read Rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly. It should go without saying that I didn't make much headway there. I'm about two chapters in, which is where I've been stuck for about 4 weeks now.

I got my son the first two big Walking Dead collections for Christmas. I plan on reading those once I'm done with the three books I'm currently working on. After that, I might get back to the stack of books I was working on back in 2011.

I haven't read a single, freaking page since I posted this. It's really driving me nuts. I'm to the point where I'm thinking of taking a day of vacation just to finish the books I've been trying to get through.
